Valentine’s Day is today – and while I am all about celebrating the ones you love, I am not into all of the consumerism and waste surrounding the holiday of hearts. If you feel the same, don’t fret – you can celebrate the day of love without the negative environmental impact. Whether you plan to celebrate your sweetheart with chocolates, flowers and cards or dinner, jewelry and a retreat – you can make ecologically and socially responsible choices that will not only show your sweetheart how much you love them, it will show your love affair with mother Earth. If that doesn’t turn your lover on, then I don’t know what will. Ha! Jump over to Persify for my 8 sure to please ways to green your Valentine’s Day and celebrate the one you love.

I am 100% with you about the consumerism driven market for Vday and all holidays for that matter. I like to make things or give free things that I have been able to gather. Most of all, I like to spend time with Scott to show him how much I love him!

    Hi Angie,

Me too! That is my favorite! I like to plan an activity for a special meal to share with the mister and Eben. Those are the things that we will remember, not some cheap gift!
