Hello. My name is Jennie Lyon, it’s nice to meet you. I am a professional green lifestyle writer and the founder and editor of Sweet Greens. I also write sustainable living posts for Cascadian Farm and Applegate Farms and green parenting, children’s how-to projects and green design posts for Inhabitots. I am also a member of the Target Inner Circle where I share an insider’s look at the ways Target is committed to environmental sustainability, education, community safety, and healthy living. I am helping to educate others and improve the eating habits of families across the country via my partnership with Stonyfield. I am an expert contributor at Green Child Magazine with a focus on recycled projects for kids and I write several posts a month on green living at Ecocentric Mom.

I am also the founder and owner of Jennie Lyon | Virtual Assistant Services where I provide small business owners and self-employed entrepreneurs with social media, marketing, administrative, and customer support.
When I am not working away in my office, you can find me paddleboarding, bicycling, beach-combing, hanging out with my boys, snapping
photos, browsing
Pinterest on my sofa, traveling, thrifting, camping, walking my Pug, sailing on my sailboat, or sipping a really good cup of organic tea.
I am married to Jayson Lyon, also known as, Mr. Sweet Greens or “the mister.” Jayson is a fabulous husband and father, my best friend and the most wonderful part of my life. He has a way of making me laugh – no matter the situation and together we are the perfect pair. You will ALWAYS find us together. Seriously. We were married in 1999 when I was 22 and he was 27. His support, love and ideas are a constant at Sweet Greens and did I mention he does all of the cooking for Sweet Greens recipes?
We have one amazing teenager named Eben who is 18 years old. Eben is a fantastic, creative and funny child who makes being a mother a pure delight – he is my EVERYTHING. Eben is constantly coming up with fabulous ideas for Sweet Greens – and inspires me with his photography, passion for the environment and his fearless approach to life and the ocean.
We have a two super-duper sweet dog a
Pug named Noodles, she is the sweet-heart of the family and a ball full of energy and love and
Olive the French Bulldog who is the world’s best snuggle bunny. If you visit us, chances are, you will have a dog on your lap!
We have lived all over the United States. The mister and I met when we were in college in Salt Lake City, Utah. Shortly after Eben was born we moved to Palm Beach, Florida. During the housing bubble we sold our home in Palm Beach and moved to Atlanta, Georgia for a year. Then, we were off on another adventure living in one of my favorite towns, Fort Collins, Colorado. Now, we are back living in Florida, back in Palm Beach in a lovely little beach-side community – we can ride our bikes to the ocean in 5 minutes!
I started Sweet Greens as a birthday gift to myself in January 2009. At the time, my family was spending a lot of time researching and implementing green ideas into our home and lifestyle. I wanted a way to be creative everyday while sharing my green ideas with others – this is how Sweet Greens came to be. I never thought that it would grow as quickly as it has or that it would turn into a career. I really enjoy writing, taking photographs and creating do-it-yourself projects – I am very grateful that I am able to do what I love everyday as a career.
Well, that is a little bit about me. Thank you so much for visiting Sweet Greens. I would love to hear from you. If you have questions, comments, likes or dislikes, you can always reach me at jennie@mysweetgreens.com
