Green Tip: Prescription Take Back Network

You may already know how to properly dispose of your unused prescriptions. However, there are also safe drug disposal programs that will do the work for you such as the Drug Take-Back Network. They collect the unused prescription medication – which are then incinerated. Supposedly, incineration is the most effective and least polluting option available. Flax Seed: A Sprinkle a Day, Keeps the Doctor Away

Do you include flax seed or flax seed oil in your daily menu? You should – flax seeds are packed full of heart-healthy substances. These nutty flavored seeds taste delicious and with a dose a Omega-3 fatty acids, Lignans and Fiber – you can’t go wrong. You can now find flax in cereals, snack bars and many other items. However, I prefer to add a couple of tablespoons to our morning smoothies. Easy Peasy. You can pick up a 48 ounce package of Flax USA Organic Golden Flax Seed from Costco for $7.99. What a deal!

* I have heard that you should check with your doctor before starting flax supplements if you have a bleeding disorder or if you are a male with or at high risk of prostate cancer.
