I love this tiny 12×12 shed transformed into a tiny home in Brooklyn, Michigan. The owner, Lynn Boughton added a porch with a reverse gable roof, installed salvaged cottage windows and topped the whole thing off with an adorable split cedar shake roof. The cost – under 10k!
Wouldn’t this be perfect for a little summer getaway home in the woods?
Are you a hot sleeper? I am – especially in the summertime in Florida. Between the heat and the humidity, I have a hard time staying asleep. I will wake up several times throughout the night to flip the pillow to the cool side. Do you do this too? That was until, I received a set of standard organic wool pillows from Savvy Rest.
The mister and I have been testing them out for a few months, so that we could give you our overall opinion on the pillows. Our opinion in short – these organic wool pillows are fabulous!
Since wool is a natural insulator from both heat or cold it stabilizes your temperature. It also promotes moisture evaporation which is perfect for the humid Florida climate – allowing me to sleep all night long without flipping the pillow. Hooray!
I also feel very comfortable sleeping with my Savvy Rest organic wool pillows because they are toxic-free, I never have to worry about chemicals while we sleep. The mister is especially smitten with his wool pillow, he said that it his favorite on our bed. He likes the comfortable, firm feel of the pillow – and I am not sure if the pillow has anything to do with this, but the mister no longer snores at night! That right there is worth every penny!
Next, on our list is to replace our mattress with an organic version (saving our pennies!) When it comes time to make the purchase, I will be consulting Savvy Rest’s great section on their website to help me choose the right mattress (they also have videos!)
And, since Mr. Sweet Greens has a back injury (he likes a very firm bed) and I like a super-soft bed, I love that Savvy Rest can customize a bed that will work for both of us!
Savvy Rest has a great selection of organic mattresses, bedding, pet beds, and pillows – if you are in the market for new pillow or other bedding option, I would highly recommend them.
Do you have organic pillows or an organic mattress? Have you noticed a difference in the way that you sleep?
Hello, Friends! I was recently interviewed by J.R. Watkin’s Clear Conscience Blog and I was asked all kinds of green lifestyle questions, here is a peek:
One of our favorite eco-friendly bloggers is Jennie Lyon of Sweet Greens. She dishes on all things earth-friendly, from food to family fun. In addition to writing Sweet Greens, she’s mother to one little boy and two of the cutest dogs you’ve ever seen. Jennie was kind enough to answer some questions for The Clear Conscience Blog and share some of her great advice here.
Jump over to the Clear Conscience Blog to check out the whole interview and to find out what my favorite J.R. Watkins product is. And a big thank you to J.R. Watkins for featuring me.
This year for Eben’s 11th birthday bash at the beach, I used Paperless Post for the invitations. Paperless Post offers a huge selection of free and paid online invitations and stationary that is as beautiful as a hard copy would be! Each invitation comes with a fabulous design and arrives in your recipients inbox in a coordinating envelope. I love Paperless Post because it allows me to send a high-quality invitation that has a super low impact on the environment. And the designs are the best that I have seen in digital invitations.
They have a great selection of invitations and stationary for parties, bridal, notes + greetings, save the dates, holidays, and announcements. If you are having a beach or pool party this summer, you should give it a try. I received the best compliments from the guests that received Eben’s invites.
What do you think of Paperless Post? Is this a service you would use?
