When? Where? and Why? You ask.When? We will be moving sometime in the next 2-4 weeks. Where? We are moving to Palm Beach, Florida. Why? Hmmm. This has several answers. One being, we miss living in a hot climate near the ocean. (We lived in Palm Beach for 5 years) Two, housing prices are super duper affordable in Florida right now. Three, we have family and friends there. Four, You only live once, so you should be smiling ear to ear each and everyday! Five, did I mention the heat? The ocean?
** Bonus: One of the loveliest friends a girl could have, Cameron Mora of Green {Goody} and Cameron Mora Photography lives in Palm Beach! Isn’t it exciting that I can move back to Florida and already have a fabulous friend there?
At this point, I am overwhelmed. We have been going back and forth on warm places that we would like to live and Florida kept coming back to the top of our list. We always loved the 5 years that we spent there. So, we decided to take the plunge and listed our house last Saturday. The thought was – OK, we will list it and see what happens? Well, 5 days later our home sold. Yes, correct, my house will shortly no longer be my own. Quick frankly, right now I am in the mourning stage. I am sure that once I get to Florida, I will great! However, I am mourning the loss of our home of 3 years. The lovely, lovely friends that we have made here, Fort Collins Old Town, the mountains and everything lovely that Fort Collins has to offer.
And now there is the moving part! Moving is hard. Both physically and emotionally. Even though I know this move is the right thing to do for my family. It is still hard. One second I am happy, the next second I am crying. It is an emotionally roller coaster.

My family loves Halloween, it is our favorite holiday. We love to watch as our front yard and porch is transformed into The Sweet Greens Haunted House. Our favorite part about our haunted house is that everything that we used to create it, is either recycled, upcyled or purchased from a thrift store. Would you like a tour? {enter a witch cackle laugh here}
The first thing you will encounter when you arrive at The Lyon Haunted House is our mason jar pumpkin lantern walkway. You can find the DIY workshop for the lanterns here, then all you have to do is add some wire for hanging. {Mr. Sweet Greens make the lantern stake holders from a wooden pallet, the kind that grass is delivered on, that he found in a vacant lot.} 
Next, you can peek over our rickety and spooky black fence into the graveyard. {Again, Mr. Sweet Greens used the slates from the pallet to make the fence and painted it black.} The tombstones and crosses were made from pieces of lumber also found in a vacant lot. The we added dead flowers from the garden. 
Next, walk up the front walkway to be greeted by the lanterns and organic pumpkins and gourds sitting on the stairs, but be careful Eben’s toy mice and spiders might bite your toes.
As you reach the top of the stairs, our ghosts floating in the breeze may startle you. {These ghosts are simple to make and will be listed as next week’s How Tuesday.} 
Next, You will have to push your way through the spooky witches curtains. {These are made from old black tablecloths}
Then find our spooky front porch complete with white sheet covered furniture, a crow in his nest, our little organic pumpkin patch and a witches broom leaning next to the front door. {I made the broom out of a tree branch that we found while on a hike and a bunch of hay, cut to fit.}
