Earth Friendly Etsy: Chakra Pennywhistle Organic Textile Giveaway

Back for another addition of Earth Friendly Etsy is one of my favorite Etsy shops Chakra Pennywhistle. You will remember Chakra Pennywhistle as the adorable circle the date patch that debuted on Sweet Greens back in April. You will also remember that Chakra Pennywhistle is a beautiful collection that Rikkianne has created by creating something new out of something old.

Rikkianne is a mother to a beautiful little girl named Mia who shares her mother’s love for thrifting and finding beautiful things – a fellow thrifter, be still my heart. Rikkianne is very passionate about doing her part to create a sustainable future and she does so by using Eco-friendly and vintage materials. She really enjoys using natural materials and one of her favorite quotes about organic farming really sums this up. “Organic farming is rediscovering old techniques and applying them with a new plough” by Rhea Pepper.

This week I want to showcase Chakra Pennywhistle’s Organic Collection. The Organic Collection is a fabulous pillow collection that consists of original hand drawn designs printed on organic cotton twill. Each pillow is stuffed with raw organic cotton and sewn with organic cotton thread. The designs are so lovely, you will want one of each. My favorites are the little modern birds and tulips.

Again, Rikkianne @ Chakra Pennywhistle has been super lovely to offer ONE of my readers a dainty, simple, handmade Tassel Pillow. This is a sweet accent pillow size 12″ wide by 6″ tall. Stay tuned, Rikkianne @ Chakra Pennywhistle will be a special Earth friendly guest blogger on Sweet Greens in the near future. {giggles}

A House Inside a Hill

I love this Swiss home built into the hills of Vals Switzerland. Isn’t it fantastic? I love that it is just part of the scenery. That view is breath taking. Wouldn’t you love to wake up to it every morning of your life? My only concern is…what happens when it snows?

Could you, would you live in a house like this?

A Fantastic Country Wedding – Sheep Included

So, I am having a super hard week, I think it is a combination of the reality that we have moved and Eben starting a new school. I really needed something to cheer me up this morning. I smiled when I saw this lovely country wedding. It reminds me of Colorado with the rolling hills and farms. Isn’t it beautiful? It makes me want to curl up on the grass and watch the clouds float by. Thank you for letting me pout.

Do you like what you see? If so, please share it:

It’s the First Day of School

And here we go again.

Can you believe it is back to school time already? I feel like we just arrived in Florida and now it is time for school again.

Yesterday, we met Eben’s teachers and explored the school. Then, Mr. Sweet Greens’ took Eben and his bestie Faith to the water park for the day, followed by ice cream cones. Isn’t he the best?

Well, lunch and snack are packed, new sneakers and a backpack (we went with the Land’s End one) are ready to go by the front door. And my favorite part of back to school so far – is the fact that Eben gets out of school at 2 pm! Much, much better than the 3:38 pm that we have been accustomed to. I am glad that I will get more time with my Eben before bedtime each day, don’t you agree?

When do your children start school?
Are they excited? If not, enter to win them a $50 shopping spree that will put a smile on their face!

Recycled Barn Style Doors Make Me Smile

I love old doors, remember this old green cabin door? Whenever Mr. Sweet Greens and I are thrifting, we are always drawn to old doors. We have really never had the use for them, until now. Now, that we will are in the market for a new residence, I can’t help but to constantly think of new and fun ways that we could incorporate old doors into our home. I think these barn doors and barn style doors are perfection. You?

I love the idea of using them to separate a bedroom from a bathroom.

Would you consider these types of doors?

Where would you put them?
