Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Are you enjoying a day off from work and school today? Eben is still asleep, that is how much he is enjoying the day off. Ha! Do you have any MLK Day traditions – does your family do anything special to celebrate or talk about civil rights? I would love to do some type of service project today – most likely for us that will mean cleaning up trash at the beach. Then, I plan to have a discussion about the real issues of today with my family during dinner.
Side note: Last night we were watching The Cosby Show and it just happens that it was an episode where the Cosby kids had been fighting all day long – at the end of the show, they all walk into the living room to see Mr. King giving his I Have a Dream speech, every one went completely silence, it really puts things in perspective.

love this pic! I make sure that I AT LEAST watch his “I Have A Dream” speech on this day. It is a cliche but it moves me every time and reminds me to be a better person.
