A Sweet & Snuggly Baby’s First Easter Basket with KeaBabies 🐣🌷

There’s nothing sweeter than celebrating your baby’s first Easter—except maybe putting together their first Easter basket! While chocolate bunnies and jellybeans are off the table for now, there are so many thoughtful, practical, and adorable gifts that make this milestone even more special.

If you’re looking to create an Easter basket that’s both meaningful and useful, I’ve got the perfect baby-friendly combo for you: the KeaBabies Shea Burp Cloths and the KeaBabies Lyra Muslin Hooded Towel. Not only are they organic, super soft, gentle on baby’s skin, and beautifully designed, they’re also something parents will actually use—every single day.

Let’s take a peek inside this sweet and snuggly basket idea…

🌿 KeaBabies Shea Burp Cloths – Soft, Neutral & Everyday Essential

Burp cloths might not seem like a “fun” gift—but trust me, every parent loves a good one. And the Shea Burp Cloths – Neutrals Set from KeaBabies are next-level good.

🌼 Made with organic cotton and designed with triple-layer protection, they’re super absorbent for all the little messes that come with feeding, burping, and snuggling.
🌿 The contoured shape fits perfectly over your shoulder, and the fabric is soft enough for even the most sensitive skin.
🧺 They wash beautifully—no shrinking, pilling, or losing softness.

The colors in this set are gorgeous and should match any nursery aesthetic—and the fun, little patterns, I can’t even! It’s a subtle, calming palette that’s perfect for baby’s first Easter basket.

Tuck a couple into the Easter basket rolled up with a satin ribbon for a soft, useful touch every parent will appreciate.

🛁 KeaBabies Lyra Muslin Hooded Towel – Tulip Print Perfection

Add a little springtime charm with the Lyra Muslin Hooded Baby Towel in Tulips. I mean—those tulips! Could it be any more perfect for Easter?

💧 Made from six layers of ultra-soft muslin cotton, this towel is super breathable, fast-drying, and ideal for sensitive skin.
🌸 The tulip print is fresh, floral, and totally Easter-worthy—while still being gender-neutral and timeless.
🧺 It’s generously sized and grows with your little one, making it a long-lasting piece from baby to toddlerhood.

Wrap it around a plush bunny or use it to line the basket—it adds a cozy, beautiful base layer to your Easter setup and can double as a lightweight spring blanket for stroller walks.

🐰 How to Assemble a Cozy, Practical Easter Basket for Baby

Now that you’ve got your KeaBabies essentials, here’s how to put together a sweet, simple, and useful Easter basket your baby (and you!) will love:

Start with a soft, reusable base:
Use a wicker or seagrass basket, a nursery storage bin, or even a soft diaper caddy that parents can use long after Easter.

Add the burp cloths + towel:
Fold or roll the Shea Burp Cloths and place them alongside the Lyra Muslin Towel, letting those beautiful tulips peek out.

Include a few soft extras:

  • A plush bunny or lamb toy
  • Natural wooden teether or pacifier
  • Board book about springtime or Easter
  • Organic baby + Mom bubble bath
  • Plantable seed paper or a “My First Easter” photo card

Top it off with a sweet, sustainable touch:
Instead of plastic grass, use shredded kraft paper, fabric scraps, or a folded baby swaddle for a decorative (and reusable) filler.

Why I Love Gifting KeaBabies

KeaBabies always hits the mark when it comes to quality, design, and function. Their products are thoughtfully made, safe for babies, beautifully packaged, and genuinely helpful for parents—making them the kind of gifts that feel good to give (and even better to receive). Savoring the Slow Moments: Why March Is the Perfect Time to Reset

Spring may still be around the corner (up here in the mountains), but March has a way of whispering change. The days are getting longer, the air feels just a little softer, and nature is slowly beginning to wake up. It’s not quite the bloom of April or the buzz of summer, but that’s what I love about it—it’s a pause. A breath. A space to savor the slow moments and reset before the rush.

If you’re anything like me, the start of the year was go-go-go. Resolutions, planning, organizing, doing. But March offers a different kind of energy—a quiet invitation to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with what matters most.

Here’s how I’m embracing the season with a sustainable, intentional reset—and how you can, too.

🍃 Refresh Your Routines—Gently

Instead of waiting for the official spring clean, I like to ease into it. A few small shifts can feel so grounding right now:

  • Swapping out heavier winter decor for light, natural textures (hello, linen and rattan)
  • Going through one drawer, one closet, or one shelf at a time
  • Opening the windows, lighting a candle, and letting fresh air and scent revive the space

This month, it’s not about overhauling everything. It’s about finding small, mindful ways to make your home and habits feel lighter.

☕ Make Your Mornings More Mindful

I’ve been trying to reclaim my mornings a little—stepping away from screens and diving into something slow and simple instead.

Lately that looks like:

  • A warm mug of coffee or tea in silence
  • A few pages of a feel-good book
  • A quick gratitude list or journal entry
  • Stepping outside for just five minutes to breathe

Even 10–15 minutes of quiet can shift the tone for the entire day.

🌎 Reconnect with Nature

March is the perfect time to get outside and watch the world change in real time. You don’t have to wait for full blooms—there’s beauty in the slow return of color, the softening of the ground, the songbirds coming back.

Take a walk without your phone. Sit on the porch with a cozy blanket. Start prepping your garden or even a few herb pots. Nature is the best reset there is—and it’s free, grounding, and always available. Jayson and I started up our daily hikes (now that it isn’t freezing!) and it’s giving me LIFE!

♻️ Simplify & Choose Sustainability

There’s something about this season that naturally calls for less. Fewer distractions. Fewer obligations. Fewer products.

It’s a great time to:

  • Switch to eco-friendly household products (reusable towels, natural cleaners)
  • Finish what you already have before buying more
  • Declutter your digital space, too—clean out files, unsubscribe from emails, organize your phone

Simplicity and sustainability go hand in hand. When you slow down, you naturally consume more consciously.

🌷 Let This Be the Season of Slow

You don’t have to wait for a dramatic spring overhaul to feel refreshed. Let this in-between month be your gentle nudge to rest, reset, and realign.

Here’s to cozy mornings, cleaner spaces, longer walks, and saying yes to the moments that matter. 💛

Plants with Superpowers: Discover Nature’s Most Fascinating Wonders with David Domoney 🌱

Plants have been a source of mystery, magic, and scientific wonder for centuries. From ancient folklore to cutting-edge research, the natural world has gifted us with plants that seem to defy logic, science, and even time itself.

Enter David Domoney, a familiar face in UK gardening television and a passionate advocate for the remarkable powers of plants. In his upcoming book, Plants with Superpowers: 75 Remarkable Plants for Your Garden and Home (publishing March 31, 2025, by Frances Lincoln), Domoney takes readers on an extraordinary journey through the world of plants that possess astonishing capabilities—some of which are almost too incredible to believe.

This book is a fascinating blend of science, history, and practical gardening tips, showcasing plants that can do things you never thought possible. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, a curious nature lover, or just someone who enjoys mind-blowing facts, this book is packed with surprises.

🌿 Meet the Superpowered Plants

What if we told you that your garden is home to living superheroes? Each of the 75 featured plants in Plants with Superpowers has its own unique abilities, making them more than just pretty additions to your home or backyard. Some of them have been used in medicine, survival, and even warfare, while others exhibit abilities that seem to border on science fiction.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the most jaw-dropping plant superpowers revealed in the book:

💠 Snowdrops – These delicate white flowers don’t just signal the end of winter; they actually produce their own antifreeze, allowing them to survive harsh, frozen conditions.

☠️ Deadly Nightshade – A plant with a dark past, it has been used in warfare throughout history. The military has even explored its potential to counteract chemical attacks.

🧠 Venus Flytrap – This famous carnivorous plant is smarter than you think! It has a memory and can count, only snapping shut when it detects the right number of touches.

🔋 Potatoes – Yes, really! A humble potato can generate enough electricity to charge a mobile phone—a real-life science experiment just waiting to happen.

🪴 The Sensitive Plant (Mimosa pudica) – A houseplant with a built-in security system! It moves when touched, folding its leaves to protect itself from predators.

🌳 Ginkgo Trees – These ancient trees are true survivors. Some ginkgo trees even withstood the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and continued to grow, making them a symbol of resilience.

Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) – In folklore, this plant was considered the best wood for crafting magic wands—a must-know for fans of mythical and enchanted gardens.

📸 What I Love About This Book

Beyond the incredible plant facts, what makes this book truly stand out is its stunning photography. Every plant is beautifully captured, bringing its superpowers to life on the page. The vibrant images make it easy to visualize these remarkable plants and imagine them in your own garden or home. Whether it’s the intricate details of a Venus flytrap in action (Eben’s favorite plant!) or the soft elegance of a snowdrop emerging from the frost, these images add an extra layer of wonder to the reading experience.

I also love how accessible and engaging this book is. David Domoney has a gift for translating complex botanical science into fascinating, easy-to-understand facts. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just someone with a growing interest in plants, this book is both educational and incredibly fun to read.

🌱 A Book for Every Green Thumb & Nature Enthusiast

Plants with Superpowers isn’t just about fascinating facts—it’s also a practical gardening guide. Alongside each plant’s legendary abilities and real-world uses, Domoney includes reliable growing tips to help you cultivate these marvels in your own garden or home.

Whether you’re a beginner looking for your first houseplant or a seasoned gardener wanting to grow something truly unique, this book will leave you inspired, amazed, and ready to plant a little magic in your own backyard.

Have a Lovely Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Eco Friends! 🌿

The weekend is here, and after a full week of work, I’m more than ready for a little adventure. Spring is slowly starting to show up here in the mountains—longer days, but the snow keeps creeping in! It’s such a hopeful time of year, and I’m ready for hummingbirds and leaves on our trees!

Eben’s back at school after a great spring break visit (why do I always miss him so much more after having him home for a week!) and now it’s just me and Jayson for the weekend. So we’re planning one of our favorite kinds of day trips—we pick a new town on the map, hop in the car, and see where the day takes us. We usually find a pretty trail to hike, pop into local shops or antique stores (we always find something quirky!), and cap it off with dinner at a restaurant we’ve never tried before. No agenda, no rush—just fresh air, togetherness, and discovery. 💚

Before we unplug and hit the road, here are a few green things to inspire your weekend (and week ahead!):

🍃 SunButter Snack Night Is a Thing Now
Did you know SunButter uses way less water than almonds and recycles sunflower seed shells into turkey bedding? I mean—give that spread a gold star, right? This week, we had the best low-waste snack night with homemade energy bites, apple nachos, and even little DIY chocolate cups (yum!). Perfect for a road trip or lazy afternoon. Read the full post here →

🍃 A Tiny Beauty Detox (That Feels So Good)
I want to encourage you to switch out your beauty products for cleaner, low-waste options. I shared some of my favorite swaps this week: refillable lip color, solid shampoo bars, and the cutest compostable deodorant that smells like citrus heaven. A little self-care, minus the plastic guilt. It’s a win-win!

🍃 New Find: Spring Seeds with Personality
I’m thinking about placing a seed order from Hudson Valley Seed Co. I can’t stop staring at the artwork on their website. The seeds look amazing, but they’re also heirloom, non-GMO, and tell a story. I added their Calendula, Rainbow Chard, and a dreamy Bee Balm mix to my cart so far!

🍃 Quick Green Hack: Freeze Your Veggie Scraps!
If you’re not composting (yet!), try this: keep a container in the freezer for onion ends, carrot peels, celery tops, etc. Once it’s full, toss it all into a pot for the best homemade veggie broth. Zero waste and so much flavor.

🍃 Just for Fun: The Most Charming Compost Bin Ever
We have this bamboo fiber compost bin from Bamboozle under our kitchen sink. It’s so cute you could leave it out, but I’m a minimal countertop gal! If you’ve been dragging your feet on composting because your bin looks like, well… a bin—this might be your moment.

Wherever your weekend takes you—across town, into the woods, or curled up with tea and a good book—I hope it’s full of fresh air, tiny joys, and green inspiration. Don’t forget to look up, breathe deep, and notice what’s blooming. 🌿

xo,
Sweet Greens

P.S. I’ve been sharing more behind-the-scenes over on Instagram—pop over and say hi! I might even post a few snapshots from whatever hidden-gem town we end up in this weekend. 🚗🌄

Sustainable Laundry Hacks: Eco-Friendly Detergents & Water-Saving Tips

Laundry is a necessary part of life, but it’s also a huge contributor to water waste, plastic pollution, and chemical runoff. From single-use plastic detergent bottles to energy-draining washing habits, our laundry routine has a bigger environmental footprint than we realize. The good news? Making your laundry routine a sustainable laundry routine doesn’t have to be difficult!

With a few simple eco-friendly swaps and mindful habits, you can reduce waste, save water, and keep your clothes fresh—all while being kind to the planet. 🌎✨

Here are the best sustainable laundry hacks featuring eco-friendly detergents, plastic-free laundry essentials, and water-saving tips!

♻️ Step 1: Swap to an Eco-Friendly Laundry Detergent

Most conventional laundry detergents come in plastic jugs, are loaded with harsh chemicals, and contain artificial fragrances that can irritate skin and pollute waterways. Switching to a non-toxic, biodegradable detergent is one of the easiest ways to green your laundry routine.

🌱 Blueland Laundry Tablets – A Zero-Waste Favorite!

My family uses Blueland for our laundry, and it’s been a game-changer! Their plastic-free laundry tablets come in compostable packaging and dissolve completely in water—no waste, no mess.

🌿 Why It’s a Sustainable Choice:
✔️ Plastic-free, dissolvable tablets (no bulky plastic jugs!)
✔️ Hypoallergenic, fragrance-free & gentle on skin
✔️ Non-toxic & biodegradable formula
✔️ Cute metal times to store your supplies in!

🧺 How to Use It: Simply drop a Blueland laundry tablet into your washing machine before adding clothes—no measuring, no spills! We also use their Oxi Laundry Booster!

🛑 Step 2: Ditch Dryer Sheets & Switch to Wool Dryer Balls

Conventional dryer sheets may make your laundry smell fresh, but they contain synthetic fragrances, chemicals, and plastic fibers that aren’t biodegradable. Instead, switch to reusable wool dryer balls to soften clothes naturally while reducing drying time!

🐑 LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls – A Must-Have Swap!

LooHoo makes 100% wool dryer balls that replace disposable dryer sheets while helping clothes dry faster, softer, and with fewer wrinkles!

🌿 Why It’s a Sustainable Choice:
✔️ Naturally softens fabric & reduces static
✔️ Cuts drying time by up to 25% (saving energy!)
✔️ Reusable for hundreds of loads

🛁 How to Use It: Toss 3-6 wool dryer balls into the dryer with your clothes and enjoy fluffier, fresher laundry—without waste!

🌱 Eco-Friendly Tip: Add a few drops of essential oil (like lavender or lemon) to your dryer balls for a natural, non-toxic scent boost!

🧺 Step 3: Use Sustainable Laundry Baskets & Organizers

Plastic laundry baskets are prone to breaking and often end up in landfills. Instead, opt for durable, eco-friendly laundry hampers & organizers that are built to last.

📦 Three by Three Storage Solutions – Organize Sustainably!

Three by Three offers beautiful, functional, and sustainable storage solutions perfect for keeping your laundry space clutter-free while reducing plastic use.

🌿 Why It’s a Sustainable Choice:
✔️ Minimalist, eco-conscious design
✔️ Made from recycled & sustainable materials
✔️ Perfect for organizing laundry & household essentials
✔️ Products come in fun, color combinations

🌱 Eco-Friendly Tip: Keep a separate bin for air-dry clothing to save energy and extend the life of delicate fabrics!

💧 Step 4: Save Water & Energy with Smarter Washing Habits

Did you know washing clothes accounts for 16% of a household’s total water use? 🤯 Reducing water and energy consumption can lower your environmental footprint and save money on utility bills!

🌊 Easy Ways to Cut Water & Energy Use:

💡 Wash in Cold Water90% of the energy used in laundry goes toward heating water. Cold washes clean just as well while preserving fabrics!

Use the Quick Wash Cycle – A shorter cycle uses less water and electricity without sacrificing cleanliness.

🧺 Only Wash Full Loads – Running half-empty loads wastes water. Wait until you have a full load before running the machine!

🚫 Skip the Dryer When PossibleAir-dry clothes on a rack or outdoor line to save energy and extend fabric life!

🚰 Step 5: Shop for Plastic-Free Laundry Essentials

Beyond detergent and storage, switching to zero-waste laundry accessories can reduce plastic waste and help the planet.
