I was going through my photos when I came across Eben’s science fair project. He chose to find out whether a plant will grow faster on a certain type of liquid. Can you image my delight when he came home to say that he was doing his science fair project on organic gardening? Be still my heart!
His hypothesis was that a plant watered with organic fertilizer would grow the fastest and a plant watered with soda would grow the slowest. He spent months growing these marigolds from tiny plants, observing and recording his findings. He then spent more time taking photos, making graphs and charts, and recording his results. He was very pleased to find out that his hypothesis was correct. Plants grow faster using organic fertilizer. [We knew that already, right?] He received an A+ on his science project. Well done, Eben, well done.
Has your child done a science fair project this year?
Did it have an environmental focus?
