Summer Daydreaming

It is officially summer in Florida – and by summer I mean 90Âş weather, EVERY day. I am not complaining, I am jumping up-and-down happy! However, I am ready for Eben to be out of school for summer vacation. I keep finding myself staring out the window at the flecks of sunshine on the pond in our backyard – daydreaming of the summer days to come. I can’t wait, an entire summer with Eben and the beach – what could be better?

24 days to go…and counting. Can I make it?

Are you ready for summer break with your kids?
What summer activities do you have planned?

Earth Day Giveaway Week: Eco-Friendly Spoonk Acupressure Mat

Hello Friends. Today’s Earth Day Giveaway Week giveaway is sponsored by Spoonk Space. One lovely winner will receive an eco-friendly Spoonk Acupressure Mat and carrying case! What better to start and end your day than with the natural stress reliever, acupressure.

Spoonk Space is an eco-conscious company that was created to spread the passion for a natural way to alleviate stress-related problems. With the pressures of daily life constantly piling on and little time for rest, people are increasingly neglecting the well being of their tired bodies and minds, leaving them with intolerably high stress levels.

Spoonk’s acupressure mats are based on the principles of the Indian bed of nails and Japanese shiatsu massage. Its 6,210 small spikes stimulate specific reflex points throughout the body to release blocked energy, ease tense muscles, and create deep mental and physical relaxation. All you have to do is lay on the mat, make sure the part of your body that needs relaxing is on it and the spikes help to stimulate blood circulation causing those “good feeling” hormones to surge!
The Spoonk acupressure eco-mat is an all-natural product. Spoonk consists of a 100% organic hemp cover, recyclable non-toxic ABS plastic spikes, and eco-foam created with Variable Pressure Foaming™ technology that has a 5-year warranty. Spoonk is GOTS certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) which recognizes them as a company that meets a high level of environmental criteria for organic textiles and requires them to be in compliance with social responsibility.
I like to lay on my Spoonk mat as I read in bed at night. After a few minutes, I feel this fantastic HEAT sensation that completely relaxes me. After laying on my Spoonk mat for around 20 minutes, the tension and stiffness that I usually feel at the end of the day (after sitting at my desk for hours) is gone! It has helped me fall asleep quicker than usual too. Fantastic.

Check out what Spoonk Space has to offer and leave a comment here. This giveaway will end on May 6th – please tell your friends and family so they don’t miss out on the fun!

5 Simple, Green Mother’s Day Surprises for Eco Loving Moms

With Mother’s Day coming up on Sunday, I have seen Mr. Sweet Greens and Eben doing a lot of whispering and sneaking around the house. Ha! I wonder what big surprises they have in store for me. Here are a handful of simple, green, Mother’s Day surprises that you can plan for Sunday. I hope to be surprised with one or two!

1. Scenic Hike or Bike

What is more fun that packing up the camera, snacks, wildlife guides, and other goodies and taking a hike or bicycle ride with the ones you love? What a great way to get a little fresh air, while spending quality time with family.

2. Visit a Garden

How lovely would it be to set off for lunch and a stroll at one of the many local gardens? Spending a day meandering through a beautiful garden, smelling the flowers, and watching the bumble bees – followed by lunch on the lush green grass, sounds perfect to me!

3. Patio Brunch

Mother’s Day brunch on our patio is a tradition that we have celebrated year after year. What a great way to start the day – fresh mimosas, organic fruit + yogurt and German pancakes in the sun!

4. Surprise Picnic

I love picnics! The combination of yummy food laid out on a blanket, my toes in the grass, birds chirping and the sun shinning overhead – what’s not to love? It’s even better when you get to cuddle with the ones that you love.

5. Simple Treats

My favorite gifts to receive on Mother’s Day are handwritten love letters and gifts made by Eben, an eco-friendly journal, book or organic clothing from Mr. Sweet Greens and getting to spend an entire day enjoying my family. Maybe this year, I will get an organic cupcake too!

What is the one way that you hope to be surprised on Mother’s Day?
