Have A Lovely Green Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends! How was your week? Can you believe it is Friday already? Do you have any fun plans for Father’s Day weekend? Today I am organizing Eben’s wardrobe. It is time to sort everything into three piles, keep, sell and donate. I do this every summer and the money that I earn from the sale of his clothing is used to purchase all of the supplies that he will need for the coming school year.
Tomorrow we are celebrating Eben’s 9th Birthday with a little get together at our neighborhood pool. It is going to be very low key and simple, with only a handful of children attending. Isn’t the pool the perfect place for a children’s birthday party?
I have always made Eben’s birthday cake or cupcakes in the past, this Rainbow Birthday Cake is calling to me. However, this year I am picking up a couple of dozen organic cupcakes from a local cupcakery.
On Sunday, Eben and I plan to surprise Mr. Sweet Greens with a morning of golf, followed by lunch at his favorite restaurant.

I want to wish all of your Dad’s a very happy, fun-filled Father’s Day weekend.

xo,
Sweet Greens

Allandale House: Simple Home Perfection

I spent part of my childhood growing up in a log home in the mountains of Liberty, Utah. With that said, I have always had a crush on A-frame homes. I love their simplicity – the design, the open living space and the size.

Architect William O’Brien Jr. takes the A-frame to the next level with the Allandale House. This modern version of the forest cabin combines a fantastic use of asymmetrical design with an open air feeling.

Isn’t it fantastic?
Would you live in a home like this?

Bicycle Dreaming

One of my favorite parts of summer is bicycle riding. I love the feeling of the sun on my face, the wind in my hair and the trees whizzing by. Here is a little bicycle love to make you smile too.

Have you enjoyed riding your bicycle lately?

Win An Essentia Engerie Opus Mattress

Did you know that we spend 220,000 hours of our lifetime in our beds (1/3 of our life)? Did you also know that traditional mattresses can emit up to 61 different chemicals including carcinogens, benzene and naphthalene? Super scary. If you are in the market for a new mattress, I would highly recommend that you consider purchasing a natural and eco-friendly version that doesn’t off-gas scary chemicals that can harm your family and the environment.

Mr. Sweet Greens and I are actually in the market for a new mattress. I want something that is more comfortable than our current mattress and isn’t hazardous to our health or the environment. We have been looking at eco-friendly options and are quite smitten with the eco memory foam options. Don’t they look comfy?
Recently, I was introduced to Essentia. They carry the world’s only natural memory foam mattresses. Whoa! An eco-friendly mattress made using natural memory foam. Yes, please. Essentia makes these mattresses using 100% natural, allergy-free latex topped with 3 inches of natural memory foam. The mattresses have no chemical emissions and come with a 20 year warranty! Bonus: They look fabulous too! Doesn’t that sound dreamy?
The best part, Essentia is giving away a Energie Opus mattress worth $3347.00. Fantastic. To enter, tell Essentia why you deserve a new eco mattress and it could be yours.

Good luck, let me know if you win!
