Last night was a typical night at the The Lyon Residence. After dinner, Mr. Sweet Greens played on the floor with our dogs, Lilly {Old English Bulldog}, Sadie {Miniature Schnauzer} and Noodles {Pug}. After they played, all three dogs retired to their favorite spots to chew on a doggy snack.
This morning, when Eben and I went downstairs for breakfast, we let the dogs outside. Lilly and Noodles about knocked me over to get out the door, however there was no sign of Sadie. This isn’t unusual however, because Sadie is a 12.5 year old dog who lost her hearing a couple of years ago. I spotted her sleeping underneath the dining room table, snug as a bug. When I reached down to nudge her, I was overcome with grief and sadness as I realized that she had passed away.
Needless to say, today has been a very sad and exhausting day for The Lyon Family. It has been nothing but tears and sadness.
Sadie was a lovely little dog with a heart of gold. Mr. Sweet Greens gave her to me the first year that we were dating. She was the perfect, 1st Hanukkah present. Up until today, she was always full of love and ready to go on a walk at a moment’s notice. She was definitely the alpha female in our household and Lilly especially loved her. They went everywhere together and loved to sleep snuggled together in their doggy bed. Lilly would spend countless hours grooming Sadie, and Sadie would quietly and contently allow her to do so. When Lilly realized that Sadie had passed away, she sniffed her several times and then moaned a few times. She has been wandering around the house all afternoon looking for Sadie. It is heartbreaking.
I have nothing but love, gratitude and lovely fond memories of my sweet little dog. Memories such as the time she spent the day in my step-father in law’s mail truck {he is a postal worker}. Or the night that she pushed Mr. Sweet Greens’ father out of bed. {She always was a bed hog}. I will also remember that she loved to wander, sniff and roll in anything that was rotten or deceased. Sadie was a lover and a snuggler, who wanted nothing more than to snuggle up on your lap for the afternoon, which was fine with us.
I want to thank you, Sadie, for making our family complete. You taught me what it was to love an animal unconditionally. You taught the importance of friendship and love. You made me laugh and smile and reminded me that life is full of fun, whether you are laying the sunshine, running in the park or sniffing every flower in your wake. I love you.

I recently received a goody bag from MBeze full of lovely natural skin care products. The package included a Koko Haze Deodorette, Twice Shy Natural Body Oil, Aim to be Pleased Natural Body Spray, Cruizee Natural Perfume and Dabber Dust Natural Underarm Powder. My favorite part of these goodies were the fabulous scents, earth and body friendly ingredients and the packaging.
The Koko Haze Deodorette and dapper dust are the perfect small size. These are exactly the size for throwing in your handbag. The deodorant rolls on smooth and clean and has a lovely coconut scent. The dapper dust gives you a quick freshen up in a small compact size. Wouldn’t these be perfect for a day out in the hot sun when you need to freshen up in a snap? Fantastic.
The Twice Shy Natural Body Oil is a lovely scent of pink grapefruit. I love that the scent is clean and crisp. I think this would be a perfect scent if you are purchasing this as a gift. This would be perfect for a day at the beach or poolside.
The Aim to be Pleased Natural Body Spray is a stronger scent of cherry blossoms and sandalwood. I think this scent would be perfect for a day of shopping and appointments. Lovely and strong without being too over the top.
The Cruizee Natural Perfume is one of my favorites with cucumber, jasmine and mint tea. It is a laid back scent that is perfect for everyday wear. It is a scent that others will notice and admire. Mr. Sweet Greens’ gave me a big hug this morning and said that I smelled delicious. It doesn’t get much better than that, right?

How was your week? Mine has been wonderfully busy. I just launched my virtual assistant business website and I am really excited for it!
It has been snowing here in Colorado again, so our plans for the weekend include some early spring cleaning, rearranging and reorganizing. We are looking to declutter and simplify our home. There will be a lot of trips to goodwill and listing of items on eBay. Doesn’t life just seem sweeter when everything is clean and organized?
