Earth Friendly Etsy Giveaway: Infusion Fibers Recycled Handbag

A few weeks ago I was online browsing Etsy. {Again, spending too much time swooning over pretty things} It was a chilly rainy day and my feet were cold so I started to browse Earth friendly slippers and fell in love with Infusion Fibers.

Infusion fibers is owned by Abby Meadow. Abby creates her collection of hand sewn, sustainable and high quality textile goodies in her Eco friendly studio. Her collection consists of fabulous and beautiful clothing, home accessories, bags and soft shoes. They are all to die for, but I am really, really wishing for a pair of the Eco Toes in Herringbone. {If anyone really loves me, I wear a size 7} Abby only uses natural and organic cotton, sustainable and recycled fabrics and fibers. Her creations have a functional beauty that is durable and long lasting. I am in love with the simply yet fabulous design, her use of vintage fabrics and the colors. She also has a fabulous website and a lovely blog that you won’t want to miss.

Thred Up: A New Way to Update Your Children’s Clothing

School time is right around the corner. Instead of going through your children’s older clothing and donating them to your local thrift shop, check out Thred Up. Thred Up is an easy and convenient way to swap your children’s clothing online with other families. You get newer clothing in the sizes that you need, they get your child’s older clothing that no longer fits. The best part, the service is 100% free. Fantastic, now get school shopping.

What do you do with your children’s older clothing?
Do you sell them? Swap them? Hand them down? Donate Them?

P.S. Personally, I sell all of Eben’s older clothing and use the money to buy clothing for the coming school year. However, this year I will be trying Thred Up out, once they have more size 10 available.

Earth Friendly Etsy: The Brass Paperclip Project Giveaway

It’s summertime and with summer comes weddings! Are you getting married this summer? This week’s Earth Friendly Etsy shop is The Brass Paperclip Project owned by Cindi Brooks in Seattle, Washington. The Brass Paperclip Project specializes in custom wedding invitations, vintage wedding and cocktail gowns, and handmade bridal accessories. Cindi uses vintage, salvaged and second hand materials to create her one of kind goodies. Even if you aren’t getting married, you could still find something lovely for yourself at The Brass Paperclip Project.

Cindi, her husband and 3 year old daughter are already living a green lifestyle, they have incorporated edible plants into their landscaping, have three rain barrels and a worm bin. They try to walk to run errands whenever possible and have plans to add solar panels, a small wind turbine, a chicken coop and larger vegetable garden to their home. Isn’t that fantastic?
