The Baby Bunch Makes Organic Cupcake Onesies

If you have a newborn or an infant, then you probably won’t be making Valentine’s for her classmates this year? You won’t be purchasing a sweet treat either. So what can you get your little cupid for Valentine’s Day? How about a box of organic cupcake onesies from The Baby Bunch. Are these ridiculously adorable, or what? Earth Friendly Etsy: Sew Sleepy Recycled Baby Shoes Giveaway

This week’s Earth friendly Etsy shop is Sew Sleepy. And this is an Etsy shop that all of you mommies with little ones at home will adore. Sew Sleepy is owned by a mother named Clare Dattilo. Sew Sleepy is a collection of Weecycled (recycled) shoes which are soft soled leather shoes made for babies and toddlers. All of the shoes at Sew Sleepy are handmade with 100% repurposed leather. How fantastic is that?

When Clare Datillo’s son was born she decided to quit her day job as a park ranger and stay home him. She has a love of nature and reducing waste which was the reason that she decided to start Sew Sleepy. The leather that she uses to make the shoes come from old worn garments that she finds at thrift stores, mostly old skirts, jackets and pants, as well as some upolstery scraps, She upcycles these found materials into fantastic little kicks for children. She loves to share her creativity and love for the environment with her children and uses Sew Sleepy to teach her children how to help the environment. Lovely.

Earth Friendly Etsy: Muichic Unis Earrings Giveaway

Who doesn’t love, love, love jewelry? Especially Earth friendly jewelry, right? Let’s start the first Earth friendly Etsy feature of 2010 with a bang. This lovely giveaway is from the Etsy shop:: Muichic. Muichic is 100% natural, organic & sustainable fashion that is absolutely yummy.

All of the jewelry pieces in Muichic’s collection are made by hand from the tagua nut. The tagua nut, a botanical alternative to ivory is a seed that comes from the ivory-nut palm or tagua palm which grows in the humid tropical forest of South America. Its use stimulates the local economies in the region providing an alternative to cutting down rain forests for farming. Isn’t that perfect? Muichic creates the most unique and colorful accessories that are environmentally friendly and fabulous.

One of my favorite items from Muichic are the blob rings in turquoise and apple green. I love them and am secretly hoping that I receive one as a birthday gift next month. Hint. Hint. Mr. Sweet Greens. Muichic is full of lovely jewelry that any lovely lady would enjoy.

Earth Friendly Etsy: Mingus

I always carry a small zippered bag in my purse to hold small items like my chap stick, lotion and hair holders. I had been looking for one that is fabulous and also made sustainably. I found the lovely hemp purses from Mingus. Mingus creates handmade and Eco-friendly small zippered purses, fabulous bags and scarves. She handcrafts all of your her items in her home in Melbourne, Australia. She hand draws and paints all of the illustrations herself. All of Mingus’ handcrafted bags, purses and scarves are made from sustainable hemp, organic cotton and linen fabrics. Her designs are lovely and my favorites are the flip flap love birds bag and the matching love birds purse.
