It’s the First Day of School

And here we go again.

Can you believe it is back to school time already? I feel like we just arrived in Florida and now it is time for school again.

Yesterday, we met Eben’s teachers and explored the school. Then, Mr. Sweet Greens’ took Eben and his bestie Faith to the water park for the day, followed by ice cream cones. Isn’t he the best?

Well, lunch and snack are packed, new sneakers and a backpack (we went with the Land’s End one) are ready to go by the front door. And my favorite part of back to school so far – is the fact that Eben gets out of school at 2 pm! Much, much better than the 3:38 pm that we have been accustomed to. I am glad that I will get more time with my Eben before bedtime each day, don’t you agree?

When do your children start school?
Are they excited? If not, enter to win them a $50 shopping spree that will put a smile on their face!

Recycled Barn Style Doors Make Me Smile

I love old doors, remember this old green cabin door? Whenever Mr. Sweet Greens and I are thrifting, we are always drawn to old doors. We have really never had the use for them, until now. Now, that we will are in the market for a new residence, I can’t help but to constantly think of new and fun ways that we could incorporate old doors into our home. I think these barn doors and barn style doors are perfection. You?

I love the idea of using them to separate a bedroom from a bathroom.

Would you consider these types of doors?

Where would you put them?

Spoonflower: Design + Print Your Own Organic Textiles

I love the idea of designing my own textiles for my new home in Florida. How fantastic would it be to be able to coordinate all of my decor with the touch of a button? In comes, Spoonflower. Spoonflower is an online textile company that enables you to design and print your own customer fabrics. How lovely is that? The best part – the textile printing is Eco friendly and they have green textiles options to choose from such as; organic cotton, rayon and bamboo. Wouldn’t the above fabric be perfect for the beds in my pop up camper? Here are some more designs that I love, love, love.

Would you design your own home textiles?

Jill Bliss: Art + Craft + Design

Jill Bliss uses everyday items such as leftover fabric scraps, paper cuttings and basic thread to create art that is unique and fabulous. My favorites are her illustration and surface design. Especially, her work that incorporates mushrooms or snails.

What do you think of Jill’s work?
Which are your favorites?
