Tonight, we are having a simple family dinner party for Eben’s 11th birthday. Mr. Sweet Greens is going to make Eben his favorite meal, then we will enjoy cake and watch Eben open his birthday presents. Hooray for birthdays!
I wanted to decorate for our dinner party but didn’t want to buy anything new, or spend a ton of time on the project. So, I went with a recycled theme! Remember the handmade streamers, stripey hats, confetti, and gift bags from last year’s surprise birthday dinner? (And I didn’t have to buy them last year either – we have used them over and over again for years!) The only thing I had to buy was a couple of bags of Eben’s favorite natural Jelly Belly beans. I wrapped the gifts that were sent from family members who live far away in comics from the Sunday newspaper!
Don’t you love easy-peasy, simple birthday parties at home? They really are my favorite!
