We went to the opening reception of Kids. Culture. Coffee – an art exhibit at our local Starbucks. Eben had a handful of pieces in the exhibit – all with a focus on the art and culture of the Mexican and African coffee lands. Each of the pieces was made using recyclable Starbucks packaging. The best part – when we arrived, Eben was showing me all of his different pieces, what they were made of and what meaning they held. When we came upon his drum (up high on a shelf), he exclaimed, ” Oh no! It is upside down and backwards!” A Starbucks employee quickly sprang into action, grabbing a step ladder and repositioning the drum exactly to Eben’s specifications. Talk about customer service!
