How did you meet your special someone?
I worked with Jayson’s ex-girlfriend and she wanted to date his roommate so she invited me to go out dancing with them, to distract Jayson. Well….. I have been distracting him for 12 years now.

I ran away from a foster home when I was 12 years old and hitched a ride to NYC. Some people I met there lived in a commune called ‘the hog farm’ affiliated with a larger commune out west. Some of them were traveling up to Vermont for a festival.The festival was at Earth Peoples Park on the Canadian border on 600 acres of free land for free people. Some people had built houses there, some lived in teepi’s some camped and a lot just came up to party.
I was there for 3 weeks and while walking down one of the roads one day I cam around a curve and there he was. I knew I was meant to be with him. I barely talked with him as he had a girlfriend there and they had a house he had built. He was older than I by 13 years.
I left but could not get him out of my head and a year later while living out in California I just had to go back to Vermont and look at him again. I went back, she was gone and I stayed until the hard winter came…5 months I was there. I had turned 14 that summer. We both left, him to Ohio, me to Virginia.
I could never forget him, we arote a bit but moving around in the foster system I lost touch with him and went on with my life.
27 years later I had the chance to go back to Vermont on vacation and located some people who knew his best friend, I passed on my phone number and it found its way to him in Ohio. He called me 9 months later.
We were both in relationships. He had been in a bad one for 20 years. We talked for a few months. He moved out and got an apartment, I moved to Ohio to be with him.
we have now built our own home, and are married. This all started in 1970. He has always been the love of my life. I found a letter in his guitar case when I came up here to Ohio from that winter we parted all those years ago. He had saved it.
