How to Create a Lunchbox Packing Station

This school year, I wanted Eben to pack his own school lunch. I wanted the process to be simple and fun, so I created a lunchbox packing station in our kitchen. This project is super simple, since you probably already have the supplies. The best part? Eben eats everything that he packs, and he is learning responsibility and how to make healthy choices on his own.

To get started, jump over to Applegate – you will be happy to have a few extra minutes each school morning!

11 Crafty Ways to Reuse Baby Food Jars

If you have a baby, you’ve probably amassed quite a collection of empty baby food jars. By the time recycling day rolls around, your bin will be overflowing with these little glass jars. It seems pretty wasteful that those dainty containers are only used for such a short period of time before being tossed into the recycling bin. Instead of toting them to the curb, run them through the dishwasher and save them for craft day with your kids. Then, gather up a few crafting supplies that you probably already have on hand, and jump over to Inhabitots for 11 inspiring, clever and useful ways to upcycle those jars!

6 Healthy, Gluten-Free Snacks for School

I have a hard time grasping the fact that kids are starting to head back to school! At our house we have been getting into the back to school routine. We have started to go to bed early and are setting the alarm in the morning. We have picked out the perfect backpack, lunchbox and water bottle and have started to put together our homework station and we are just getting everything overall organized and ready to go.

Now that we have lunches planned, one of the biggest challenges for back to school is coming up with an assortment of healthy, nutritious and delicious snacks. I always want to pack goodies that aren’t only healthy, nutritious and delicious, but snacks that pack a brain power boost as well. I also like to focus on foods that are gluten-free and wholesome. Jump over to Inhabitots for a list of 6 snacks that are gluten-free and totally yummy.
