Have a Lovely Thanksgiving + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends. Are you ready? The holidays are here! Today, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with
Eben’s grandfather and great-grandfather! Then, we get to celebrate all over again this weekend, when my mom, dad, brother and niece come into town! Hooray for the holidays! I am taking a couple of days off to enjoy my beautiful family, while I do here are a few green things to keep you entertained:

– I am hosting a pop-up sustainable Target giveaway on Black Friday, join me!
– Store mannequins just got a whole lot creepier!
– Are you going to shop small on Small Business Saturday?
– After Thanksgiving, you may need to know how to clean your oven naturally!
– Who knew that you could make a Menorah from a wine barrel and Patron Tequila?
– Vancouver just became first city to pave its streets with recycled plastic.

How to Bake Organic Miniature Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcakes

Children love the holidays and one of their favorite parts of Thanksgiving is the desserts! Can you blame them? All of that creamy goodness known as pie – oh my! This year we are hosting Thanksgiving dinner and there will be children in our dinner party, so I wanted to add a little more fun to the dessert menu. I am planning on making an assortment of miniature pies, this way the little ones can enjoy a little bite of everything without a lot of waste.

The simplest way that I found to whip up these miniature pies was by making them as cupcakes. This also makes them super portable for the morning after Thanksgiving when the whole family is snuggled on the family sofa with hot cocoa and tea in hand! I have dreams of living in a tiny space. Do you? I saw the eco-PERCH, a versatile home that sleeps four people. The eco-PERCH can be delivered and assembled within five days – I really like the layout!


The best part, it can either be assembled on the ground or above the ground – like a treehouse. Unfortunately, it looks like it is only available in U.K. at this time. However, if and when it becomes available in the U.S., I think it would be perfect for our little family of three.

Eben has a stuffed crocodile that I gave him as a gift when he was a baby. And even though he no longer carries it with him everywhere, it is still his most prized possession!
