Have a Lovely Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends! How are you? How has your week been? Eben and I are meeting Mr. Sweet Greens and Grandpa Sweet Greens at the golf course after school. The last time we went golfing was in Colorado. Gasp! How can that be? Then, Grandpa Sweet Greens is spending the night – this has to be one of my favorite parts of being back in Florida. All three of us really enjoying being able to spend a lot of time with Grandpa Sweet Greens – he rocks! Oh yeah and our dogs love him too! Grandpa Sweet Greens rolls Noodles over and over again – it’s hilarious.

While I pack up our golf clubs, here are a few green things I have been meaning to share with you:

– These water bottle sculptures are fantastic!
– Would you base jump off a wind turbine?
– I love this simple spreadsheet for tracking monthly expenses.
– Are you a fan of The Big Bang Theory? I am.
– Could you work in a rock office?
– Just say NO to GMO’s and while you are there add your voice.
– I love that David Sedaris is available on vinyl.
– Looking for Organic Valley coupons? Here you go.
– I can’t wait to live in a house again!

I hope you have a lovely weekend snuggled up with your lovelies!
xo,
Sweet Greens

Upcycled Pipe Cleaner Pokemon Characters

Eben is really, really into Pokemon. He knows ALL of their names, powers and evolutions. Honestly I know more about Pokemon than I ever thought humanly possible for a woman in her early thirties. Anyhow, yesterday during Eben’s free time at school, he made the most amazing Pokemon characters – entirely out of leftover pipe cleaner pieces (no glue!). And in case you want to know the names of the Pokemon characters, here you go; Leafeon, Umbreon, and Vaporeon. He is crafty that way!  What do you think?
P.S. I asked Eben yesterday if he would like to take another art class? His response: “No. I love art, but I don’t like being told what to create, I like to use my imagination!”  I guess I need to find an independent art class for him?

Do your children love to create things?

Superfood of the Week: AƧaƭ

Grape Juice

Get your weekend off to a great start with the superfood of the week: aƧaĆ. AƧaĆ is one of nature’s best sources of anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are the plentiful flavonoid pigments found in deep red and purple fruit and vegetables. The pure juice of the aƧaĆ is packed with antioxidants, amino acids, dietary fiber, vitamin B and C, essential fatty acids and omega-3, -6 and -9. AƧaĆ may even cure certain types of cancer.

Wow. All of those nutrients packed into a little dark-purple berry? You can easily add aƧaƭ to your daily lifestyle by drinking the juice, adding aƧaƭ powder to smoothies or eat them whole.

How do you add aƧaƭ to your menu?

I’m Gonna Make it Better. Are You?

This sweet video from Clim called Make it Better really spoke to me this morning. The simple message: always try to be the best you can be. And with fun typography to boot!

Are you going to make it better?

Ferm Living: Organic Robot Pillows

Ferm is the Danish word for “clever.” And aren’t these organic Robot pillows from Ferm Living – well ferm? I have always been smitten with robots – something about their boxy bodies and expressionless faces. Wouldn’t these look adorable on a bed or overstuffed chair?

Which is your favorite?
