#8 – The 12 Days of Etsy: Painted Turtle Wooden Toys: Rattle

♫♪ On the eighth day of Etsy, my true love gave to me an all natural, heirloom rattle, a honey do whistle, a set of mini stocking ornaments, a fab digital dot necklace, a gift certificate for fun pillows, three FLY art kits, two recycled ice skate ornaments and something that will make me look pretty. ♫♪

Giveaway number eight is from Painted Turtle Wooden Toys. One lovely reader will receive their choice of sustainable, heirloom quality wooden rattle. Fantastic.

Painted Turtle Wooden Toys are all natural, heirloom quality and handmade in Canada. Each toy is guaranteed to be made from locally sourced wood that is environmentally conscious and then finished with 100% non toxic finishes.

Each toy is made using hard maple, white ash, cherry and walnut that is sourced from a local family owned sawmill that has been responsibly managing their lumber since 1959. Each piece is made to last – making these toys the perfect heirloom gifts.

I love the selection of stacking toys, teething rings and rattles. My favorite are the teething and nursing pendants for new mamas. The pendant is safe for babies to teethe on and secure enough for busy little hands to play with while nursing.

Green Tips:: Don’t Blow It!

The leaves are changing color from green to a beautiful array of gold, red and orange. Shortly the leaves will fall and the buzzing willl begin. The buzzing? Yes, the buzzing. You guessed it, the buzzing of leaf blowers.

Did you know that besides being the perpetrator of that horrible buzzing noise, that leaf blowers are horrible on the environment and our health? A single hour of leaf blowing pollutes the air the same way that driving your car for 350 miles does. However, when you are driving a car for 350 miles, you are usually traveled a far distance, not driving around in your back yard or neighborhood. The pollution that the leaf blowers emit stay concentrated in your general area {your neighborhood} spewing a toxic cocktail of smoke, dust, allergens and other fine particles that are then inhaled by you, your neighbors, children and pets. So, blow off using the leaf blower and grab a couple of rakes instead. Raking your leaves is excellent exercise, fun to do with the kids and won’t hurt the environment, your lungs or your neighbors ears.

Do you blow or rake your leaves?
What are your thought?
xo.
