NOTE FROM SWEET GREENS: Today Sweet Greens is excited to announce my first Eco Guest Blogger Rikkianne from Chakra Pennywhistle and Team Eco Etsy. You will remember Rikkianne from her fab Etsy Shop, Chakra Pennywhistle, she has been featured on Sweet Greens here. Rikkianne is also a member of Team Eco Etsy and she is here today to tell us more about this lovely group. Take it away Rikkianne, and thank you for sharing this wonderful group with Sweet Greens readers.
My name is Rikkianne and today I am excited to tell you about a special group that is very near and dear to my heart. Team Eco Etsy is a group of talented Etsy Artists that are dedicated to reducing, reusing and recycling. The group’s focus is basically to “consider the source”. By that I mean that each member takes the environment into consideration when they make, sell, and package their products.
When browsing the group’s products on Etsy, one can find everything from recycled skateboard jewelry to the most luxurious organic handmade quilts. From accessories and clothing, to housewares and personal care, Eco Etsy is the group to search and find a gift that is thoughtful in every way.
Eco Etsy’s Mission
Personally, I learn so much by being a member of this group. Not only have the members provided me with great advice in all areas of Eco-conscious making and selling, they also offer valuable information and ideas regarding living an Eco-minded lifestyle. By visiting the team’s blog, readers can find Eco tips, tutorials, Eco fashion picks, and member features. The blog is one of my daily reads and is always an incredible source for all things handmade and green.
Another special aspect of the team are the special promotions, specifically when the Eco Etsy members work together to lend a hand to various nonprofit groups. In the past, the team has raised money for groups such as Heifer International and The Nature Conservancy. Another special project held this past Earth Day was Project Green Share. This was a community effort where members got out locally and spread the green by sharing a gift of seeds and starter planters. My daughter and I especially enjoyed this! We spent the day fashioning packets out of grocery store bags for our seeds, and then going around to local businesses to pass them out!
Team Eco Etsy is a welcoming, creative, and informative team packed full of green goodness. I am honored to be a member and thankful to share my experience!
