Once this snow melts…yes, you heard me right, it snowed here in Colorado, again. Anyhow, once this snow melts, I want to get into full spring mode. I am ready to revamp my front porch, plant flowers, and brighten up my home decor with fantastic, bright colors.
Wouldn’t it be fun to surprise your mom, sister or your best friend with this fantastic upcycled flower pot carrier from Dandee Designs? Just leave it on their front porch, ring the bell and run! I love that it is upcycled from a Sonic drink caddy. What a great way to reuse something that would otherwise end up in the recycling or trash bin. Right? It is just too simple and sweet to resist. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to make these to give to your children’s teachers as end of year thank you gifts? In fact, I think this is the project that Eben and I are going to do, with some simple modifications. (I will let you know how they turn out!)
How about you lovely readers, do you send gifts to your children’s teachers at the end of the school year? Do you make or purchase the gifts? If you make them, what type of gifts have you made? What are your favorite types of potted flowers?
I love this succulent wreath from VivaTerra. I love the different textures and colors and since succulents are my favorite plant, this would make my day. Wouldn’t this be lovely hanging on your front door this summer? You could also arrange fantastic Eco friendly pillars in the middle to create a fabulous centerpiece for your dining room table, no?
How about you lovely readers, what is your favorite plant? Do you love succulents the way I do? Which is your fave?
How was your Mother’s Day weekend? Did you have super fun? I had a fantastic time camping, fishing and soaking in the hot springs with my boys! The campsite that Mr. Sweet Greens reserved was fabulous, it was very far out in the woods, right next to the river. There were only a couple of other people there, so it was very quiet and peaceful. It was great to lay down at night and hear nothing but the sound of the river.
On our way to the hot springs, we came across a huge herd of Mountain Sheep (Rams). We have never seen so many of them at the same time. They were in a huge meadow at the base of the mountain, just grazing and relaxing. It was fantastic!
On Mother’s Day morning, I woke up to the best view. Follow by a Mother’s Day breakfast of organic pancakes, organic fruit and yogurt and a huge organic Mother’s Day Cupcake from Whole Foods. (Mr. Sweet Greens never misses a detail and I love that he packed a beautiful little cupcake to surprise me with!) All of my gifts were Eco friendly too, a pair of fantastic Simple Shoes Sneakers, a Carve Designs organic Avalon Tee (Mine is pink with Koi on it) and a handmade cookbook that Eben created just for me! Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
The best part was escaping for the weekend with the two people that I love the most in the world. Priceless.

What are your plans for Mother’s Day weekend? My boys are taking me on a weekend long hot springs and camping adventure. I am looking forward to waterfall hikes during the day and long soaks in the hot springs at night. How fun is that? Isn’t it fantastic to get away for the entire weekend with your family?
I do wonder, will I still be surprised with Mother’s Day breakfast in bed? Will I receive a lovely handmade card from Eben? How will Mr. Sweet Greens and Eben surprise me, when we are deep in the woods? I can’t wait, I love, love, love surprises.
Do you still need help deciding on a way to surprise Mom this Mother’s Day, read my ‘7 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day With Your Kids’ for a little inspiration. Do you need a last minute gift idea?
