When Mr. Sweet Greens’ has to work late, Eben and I plan a date night. Tonight is one of those nights and I have a surprise for Eben. I plan on grilling fresh tomato and Swiss sandwiches, mixing up a tangy spiral pasta and veggie salad and packing a couple of homemade brownies into a picnic basket for an impromptu dinner in the park. The park near our home has a huge lake with tons of ducks and other birds – the perfect backdrop, no? I just need to look into the deep-freeze for any leftover bread for the birds.
