My fashion style is very simple, so when I get dressed I love jewelry that gives my outfit a punch of color. Something that when I wear it people are naturally drawn to it. I love to wear an outfit that is simple, yet classy and dress it up with fab jewelry. You would be amazed how great a simple white tank will look when paired with a great piece of jewelry. It has a huge impact.
I recently received some jewelry from The Andean Collection. I received the 3 in 1 long strandedacai necklace, the diamond tagua earrings, and the pambil bracelet with matching earrings. All of these pieces are fabulous and add that visual impact of color that I desire, are made of natural materials that are good for the Earth and the people who inhabit it and the jewelry is touchable and fun. There is something for everyone.
The Andean Collection creates socially conscious fashion that is fabulous. The idea behind The Andean Collection is to create great fashion forward design that has a positive impact on our planet while providing artisans a path out of poverty by using fair trade principals. The Andean Collection pays its artisans a fair wage and also provides the artisans a share in the profits by giving them partial ownership of The Andean Collection.
The Andean Collection was founded by Amanda Judge who currently lives in Manhattan’s East Village. Amanda grew up spending hours with her godmother creating necklaces out of glass beads. Amanda holds a M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University where she studied development economics and poverty reduction strategies. Amanda created The Andean Collection in September 2008, in order to introduce the indigenous artisans of northern Ecuador.
Another thing that I love about The Andean Collection is that the natural materials that are used to make the jewelry line, such as seeds, are sustainably harvested from the South American rain forests. This means that the forests were not harmed for these seeds. My favorites are the pieces of jewelry made with Acai and Tagua seeds.
Amanda @ The Andean Collection has been so lovely to offer ONE of my readers a $25 gift certificate to use to purchase anything from The Andean Collection. This would be a lovely gift for a family member, friend or even yourself for the upcoming holidays.

I am in love, love, love with Alima Pure and their line of 100% natural and earth friendly mineral cosmetics. Alima Pure uses only the purest cosmetic grade mineral pigments that are 100% certified natural and cruelty-free. Alima Pure has no additives, fillers or fragrances that can irritate or clog your skin. They have earned the highly prestigious BDHI “Certified Natural Cosmetics” seal of approval and are one of only two American cosmetic companies to earn the certification. To be BDHI-certified goes beyond creating 100% natural cosmetics, it also means that their manufacturing process is socially and environmentally responsible.
The colors are rich and intoxicating, they last all day and my super sensitive skin has started to clear up since I started to use it a few weeks ago. I adore the finishing powder, blush, eyeshadow, and nourishing lip balm. My favorites are the Keiko finishing powder, amethyst luster eyeshadow and dianthus blush. The colors are beautiful without being over the top.
Also, they have an amazing jar return policy. They will reward you for returning your used jars – just send in 5 empty jars from any full sized product and you will receive a free eyeshadow of your choice. You can’t beat that.
Alima Pure has been so kind to offer THREE of my lucky readers the chance to win an April in Paris eyeshadow collection.
When my skin is smooth and clear I feel so much more confident and ready to face the world. The hard part for me is finding one skin care line that does all the work for me. Since I have combination skin, I usually have to use several different product lines to get the results that I desire. That is not the case with Dr. Alkaitis Holistic Organic Skin Food. Dr. Alkaitis is a chemist, molecular biologist, ethnopharmacologist and pharmacognosist so, when it comes to the right plant derived products to use on your skin, he is the person to ask. Dr. Alkaitis has used his vast knowledge of plants to create a product line that uses a holistic approach to healing the skin.
I received Dr. Alkaitis Holistic Organic Skin Food’s Trial Kit and I have been using the products for almost 4 weeks now (their website says that the trial kit will last 7-12 days, but I found that I didn’t need to use a lot, so it lasted longer for me) and I am overly impressed and surprised. This is the first time in a long time that I have had absolutely clear skin everywhere. I absolutely love the Organic Purifying Facial Cleanser and the Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil. I love that this skin care line is simple as there isn’t a different product line for skin type. It doesn’t matter if you have oily, dry, acne prone or combination skin because all skin types can use the same line. Dr. Alkaitis says that it isn’t necessary to use different products for different types of skin. I also love that the products are long lasting. The cleanser and toner lasted almost a month and I still have a lot of the other products left and will continue to use and enjoy them.
The reason that I love the Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil is because it works. I tend to get red blemishes that are very painful and noticeable. I add a small drop of the organic nourishing treatment oil to the blemishes before bedtime and when I wake up the blemishes are cleared. I think it is amazing that all of the products are biologically active and the base for all of the products is 100% organic Aloe Vera gel instead of water. The products are never older than 2 weeks old when they are shipped to you and everything is made in house. Dr Alkaitis‘ mantra is “If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin.”
You can give Dr. Alkaitis Holistic Organic Skin Food a try for yourself. I am giving away ONE Dr. Alkaitis trail kit (retail value of $45) to one of my lovely readers. This is a giveaway you won’t want to miss for health of your body and your skin.

Since we have been talking about stocking stuffers, I thought it would be nice if this week’s Earth Friendly Etsy Shop offered a lovely item that you could stuff in the stocking of someone you love. I also wanted something that would be perfect for the crafter’s and seamstress’ out there. {I love to sew and have been working on my own craft.} I wanted something cute, organic, fun and creative. With that said, I found Sew to Speak and was immediately smitten.
Sew to Speak is owned and operated by Brittany in . Brittany is a fabulously talented seamstress who makes the sweetest shirts that you have seen. Brittany’s shirts are made using 100% organic cotton which makes them Eco friendly, good for you and lushly soft. Brittany’s designs are inspired by sewing and quilting which has always surrounded her life. Both Brittany’s mother and grandmother are master seamstresses who create the most lovely quilts. When Brittany was growing up, her grandmother made most of her beautiful clothes. How lucky is that?
To create her beautiful and whimsy shirts, Brittany starts by hand drawing the designs and then transferring them to her computer to add the text. She then creates the screen for the printing of the shirts and prints each by hand.
Do you have a crafter or a seamstress on your holiday shopping list? If so, wouldn’t they love to open a lovely little gift from Sew to Speak?
