If you have a toaster oven or a small brick oven, use it whenever possible over your full size conventional oven. Toaster and brick ovens take less energy to run and are especially effective if you are only reheating a slice of last night’s pizza. {just remember to unplug it when not in use.}

I am all about living a healthy and fit life. I have built physical activity into my daily schedule, so that I will have “me” time everyday. One of my favorite ways to stay healthy and fit is doing yoga. My favorites are Bikram and Power yoga. Eben has taken several yoga classes and really enjoys it. {His favorite pose is tree pose, which he looks adorable doing}I did notice that he had a hard time getting my mat straight (since it is so large) and I think he would be over the moon for a lotuspad in his own size and color of his choosing. I also think that he would enjoy the softness and thickness of a lotuspad.{hmmm.. maybe for the holidays.}

If this weren’t enough lotuspad also makes the sweetest yoga mat carry straps. I love this idea, because when I take a class, I have to carry my yoga mat in a gym bag or tote and the carry straps are just so much more cute and convenient. I love the designs {they are bold and colorful} and the fact that the carrying straps are handmade locally in Massachusettes in small batches.

How Tuesday: Cosmetic Swap Party

Do you have a tube of lipstick, an eye shadow or blush that looks fab in the container but horrible on your face? We have all purchased a fab beauty product only to bring it home, try it out and be completely disappointed. So, what do you do? Toss it in your make up drawer where it will stay until you finally decide to toss it?

Instead of chalking it up to a small loss or big (depending on how much you spent). Have a cosmetic swap party with your best girlfriends. Chances are your deep red lipstick that makes you look like a vampire will look amazing on one of your friends.

Invite your girlfriends over for a cosmetic swap. Ask each friend to bring their make up that they would like to swap, their own beauty brushes (for trying out the cosmetics) and a portable mirror. {A bottle of wine doesn’t hurt either.} Next, set up your own beauty salon at your dining room table, stocked with Eco friendly make up pads, cotton balls and wash clothes.

Spend an evening chatting, drinking a nice glass of wine and trying on each others cosmetics.
