Do you have a tube of lipstick, an eye shadow or blush that looks fab in the container but horrible on your face? We have all purchased a fab beauty product only to bring it home, try it out and be completely disappointed. So, what do you do? Toss it in your make up drawer where it will stay until you finally decide to toss it?
How Tuesday: Cosmetic Swap Party
Instead of chalking it up to a small loss or big (depending on how much you spent). Have a cosmetic swap party with your best girlfriends. Chances are your deep red lipstick that makes you look like a vampire will look amazing on one of your friends.
Invite your girlfriends over for a cosmetic swap. Ask each friend to bring their make up that they would like to swap, their own beauty brushes (for trying out the cosmetics) and a portable mirror. {A bottle of wine doesn’t hurt either.} Next, set up your own beauty salon at your dining room table, stocked with Eco friendly make up pads, cotton balls and wash clothes.
Spend an evening chatting, drinking a nice glass of wine and trying on each others cosmetics.
Would you swap your cosmetics?

i already do this from time to time–people bring books, jewelry, clothing, cosmetics, and all sorts of things. i’ve gotten rid of lots of stuff that wasn’t quite right for me, and i have some great clothes, purses, and books that i’ve gained!
Lotions and perfumes, sure. Eye and lip products probably not.
I do donate the bonus cosmetics I get to our local Senior Center and Dosmetic Family Shelter. Also to the theater club at my son’s school. Lots of ways to pay it forward. Thank you Sweetest of Greens!
