The kids are headed back to school and for many of you this means packing school lunches every day. If you are lucky enough to have a child that eats anything and everything in his lunch box, congratulations! If not, you may be looking for ways to jazz up the school lunch box so that your child is excited to eat everything you send with him. Read on to learn my favorite seven ways to add a little surprise to your child’s lunch, so there’s less of a chance that food will go to waste.
What To Watch Now: The Future Of Food
Have you seen the documentary The Future of Food? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it, especially if you are concerned about GMO crops and the potential impact that they have on our health and the health of our environment. The Future of Food has been a key tool in the American and international anti-GMO grassroots activist movement to ban GMO crops. I want a future where our food sources are natural, organic and healthy – not modified and scary!
What are your thoughts on GMO’s?
Is this something that concerns you?

Have a Lovely Green Weekend + A Few Green Things
Hello, Friends. What are your weekend plans? Since Hurricane Irene decided not to visit Florida, we plan to spend the weekend at the beach. We have been spending a lot of our beach time, eco-walking. What could be better than spending an afternoon strolling our favorite beaches and cleaning them up along the way? (It would be better if our coastlines and oceans didn’t need cleaning up!) Do you eco-walk, eco-run or eco-hike?
While I get ready for an afternoon at the beach, here are a few green things to take you into the weekend:
– Walls of green.
– Do you live in NY – Warby Parker is hiring!
– Mr. Sweet Greens wants to build one of these in North Carolina.
– And I want one of these!
– Let’s make veggie stuffed baked potatoes.
– Life is a bowl of cherries.
If Hurricane Irene is headed your way, please be prepared and stay safe. I will see you back here on Monday.
xo,
Sweet Greens

Back to school can be so busy, that it easy to see how homework, library books and even piano practice can sometimes be forgotten. It can be tricky to organize your family in a way that ensures these important things aren’t missed – especially if you have multiple children, activities, and many other things on your agenda. Here are my favorite seven ways to get your family organized for back to school. Here are my favorite tips that will keep you organized and allow you time to focus on what you love – your family.

Smithsonian Magazine | Free Museum Day Tickets
Smithsonian Magazine is offering a free ticket for two to hundreds of different museums all over the country. Click here to find a participating museum in your area and then click here to reserve your tickets for September 24th.
Eben and I chose the Lighthouse ArtCenter because he is very interested in art. I thought this would be a great way to check out the museum and find out about their upcoming art classes. Win, win.
What museum will you reserve your tickets for?
