Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum Tour

One of the first activities that we experienced this summer was a tour of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. There is a fantastic museum full of Jupiter history and artifacts and the oldest home in Palm Beach county is on the grounds to tour. I enjoyed the 105 steps up to the top of the 1860 Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse – Eben, however, is afraid of heights, the journey was tough for him. After a lot of quiet coaxing, we made it to the top – together. And the view is fantastic! If you are visiting the Jupiter area, I would highly recommend stopping by.

Organic Fourth of July Desserts

Desserts are one of my favorite parts of the holiday – the red, white and blue is so patriotic and beautiful! I am trying to decide which dessert I want to make an organic version of. Summer Leaf Prints with Glob Natural Paints

Eben and I were super excited to receive a set of Glob Natural Paints to review. Glob is a natural art supply company with a focus on sustainability, using vibrant pigments that have been used throughout the ages by many different cultures. Glob’s pigments are all natural, biodegradable and come in a beautiful collection of colors; Lemon Verbena (yellow), Blueberry (blue), Pomegranate (red), and Basil (green). We couldn’t wait to get our hands dirty, and after taking a nature walk around our neighborhood, we headed home with a small collection of leaves and the perfect project idea. Since Glob paints are made using flowers, vegetables, fruit and spices, with natural food grade ingredients and organic extracts, we decided that leaf prints would be the perfect nature inspired project to try with our Glob paints. Check out my step-by-step instructions on how we used this fantastic new art medium to create a nature inspired art gallery for above Eben’s desk.

Have a Lovely Green Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends! Are you excited for the weekend? We plan to have a low-key, laid-back, relaxing weekend. I am thinking beach days, grilling up goodies in the afternoon and reading on the patio at night. We are finishing settling into our new space – all we have left to do is organize the garage and hang our family photographs. So far we are really enjoying it and excited for the year to come.

While I slip on my flip-flops, here are a few green things to entertain you this weekend:

– These tiny Polaroid magnets are on my to-do list!
– An 8 level garden with waterfalls – this is my type of mall.
– Would you get a tattoo of your Facebook friends’ profile photos?
– Have you wondered what the impact of imported tropical fruit is?
– Do you take time for the birds?
– I think I definitely need to make a little orange sherbet!
– This bamboo Lilly’s chair is sized for kids.
