Hanging Air Plant Gardens | Flora Grubb

Our new space has four small outdoor areas that I would love to add greenery to. Since these spaces have a lot of wall small (and not so much floor space), I have been thinking of gardening options that include plants that could hang on the wall. I love these hanging air plant gardens from Flora Grubb. Aren’t they fantastic? South Florida is covered in air plants – I can see some outside my office window right now! I think this type of garden would be perfect. I love that they are simple, beautiful, native, and low-maintenance. What are your thoughts?

Have you ever gardened with air plants?
Is this a type of garden that you would try?

How to Bodyboard with your Kids on Summer Vacation

Bodyboarding-1This summer you may spend time at the beach, whether you live near one or will be visiting one on vacation. One of the easiest and greatest ways to keep kids entertained at the beach on a windy day is with a boogie board. Body-boarding is a ton of fun for kids who are ready to venture out into the waves for a lot of excitement. This sport is great for children of all ages, as long as they are good swimmers and ready for a little splash and speed. Learn how you can get your kids body-boarding the first day that you hit the beach, making for a fun, exciting day in the ocean.

Our New View

Hello, Friends. How was your weekend? Our home is so quiet in the morning and my favorite way to start the day is by sitting on our back patio. The nature preserve behind our home is so peaceful and beautiful. It is lovely to sit outside first thing in the morning and listen to the nature world as it wakes up for the day. I think this is my favorite space in our new place – it energizes and bring serenity at the same time.

What is your favorite space in your home?
Where do you find your center, your calm?

The Inner Chair | Plant and Animal Life can Live Inside

I have found my new chair obsession – The Inner Chair designed by Martin Azua. Through his Life in Objects project, Martin designs a number of useful objects which can support plant and animal life inside. Fantastic! Wouldn’t it be lovely to sit on your patio, smelling the beautiful foliage to your right? Then, surprise, your little turtle friend comes out of his home to say hello. I think this is the perfect example of multi-use furniture that incorporates nature into design, agreed?

Have a Lovely Father’s Day Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends! Are you ready for the weekend? Today, we are going on a nature walk and to visit another one of our favorite nature preserves, Gumbo Limbo. Gumbo Limbo always has sea turtles, sharks, fish and other ocean life that they are rehabilitating. This was Eben’s favorite place to visit when he was little, he would call it “Humbo Himbo.” Too funny. And, I am excited to surprise Mr. Sweet Greens with his Father’s Day goodies and celebrate the wonderful father that he is on Sunday!

While I get ready for a day of fun and sun, here are a few fun green things for your weekend.

– These super dedicated animal Dad’s make me smile!
Bug art: creepy or cool?
– Still looking for a Father’s Day gift? You could adopt an acre for Dad.
– I really want a salvaged wood wall in my home. You?
Organic berries are on sale. Today’s only!
– The cutest toy dinosaurs ever. Really.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend celebrating all of those lovely Dad’s out there! I will see you back here on Monday, stay safe.

xo,
Sweet Greens
