Have you had a chance to read my article “6 Simple Tips to Green Your Pets” on Cascadian Farm? My tips include ways that you can green your pet ownership such as; adopting a pet, spaying and neutering your pet, choosing sustainable pet goodies, disposing of pet poop properly, as well as ways to green your pets diet and pet care products.
If you could give it a read and leave me your comments, I would love it!
Today is Eben’s last day of school. Yay! I am so excited to spend the entire summer with him. There will be plenty of lazy days by the pool, afternoon trips to the library and local Fro-Yo shop, bicycle rides, hammock naps, morning hikes and family camping trips.
We are kicking off summer vacation with a pool party and BBQ today after school. I am looking forward to watching the kids jump into the pool for the first time this season. I, however will be warming the sidelines, I don’t venture into the pool for at least another few weeks! It is still to cold for me! How fun is it to gather with all of your friends and celebrate summer?
When are your kids out of school? What summer plans do you have? Do you love to hang out by the pool?
It all started when we purchased our new pop up camper. I was stocking it full of all of the essentials that we will need for camping trips. I was looking for products to use for general clean up and for personal clean up. However, space is definitely an issue. Our pop up is a generous size, but have you been in a pop up camper before? You don’t want to use all of your storage space to house cleaners, right?
That is when I found Dr. Bonner’s Classic Fair Trade Liquid and Bar Soaps. I was reading the label and you can wash anything with it. It even says that you can brush your teeth and wash your pets with it! The best part is that the products are organic, fair trade, biodegradable, vegetable based and come in a 100% post consumer bottle with paper label. So, I bought 2 bottles, one in Peppermint and one in Lavender.
So, I came home to try it out before I put it in the camper. I didn’t want to be hundreds of miles away from home or any type of grocery store to find out that the products aren’t for me. Guess what? It works and a little goes a long way. You can add just a tiny amount to a spray bottle and clean your entire house. I do and it works on everything from tile to porcelain to granite to glass. Yes, glass and no streaks!
We have been using it on our camping trips for general cleanup, bathroom cleanup, washing the dishes, taking a shower (it has a fantastic lather!) and washing the dogs when they get too dirty! However, Mr. Sweet Greens and Eben tried brushing their teeth with it (without diluting it!) first. Caution! Make sure to dilute it, it is strong stuff! And it is great to only have to store 1 bottle of Dr. Bonner’s and 1 spray bottle in our camper. Not to mention, it is super affordable, environmentally responsible, comes in fantastic scents including; Peppermint, Lavender, Almond, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Unscented Baby-Mild, Rose and Citrus Orange and contains all natural ingredients that you are familiar with and can pronounce!
I am in green cleaner love.
How about you lovely readers, do you have a favorite all purpose green cleaner? Have you tried Dr. Bonner’s Magic Soaps? Will you try it? Which scent is your favorite?

I love these Plankridge Shepherd Huts. Aren’t they fantastic? Not only are they small, but they are portable. I love the idea of moving my house to a different destination every few months. It doesn’t get much better than that, right?
Would you live in a space this small? Or, is this too close for comfort for you. Would you live in a space that is small and portable?
