Recycled Coca Cola Bottles Equals Fabulous Emeco Chair Design

I love, love, love navy chairs. I love their simple lines, durability and colors. So, I am flipping out over the new 111 Emeco Navy Chair. It is created from 111 recycled plastic Coca Cola Bottles. Emeco says that this is their strongest chair to date. Now how’s that for turning some one’s trash into treasure? I would love to have one of these for each room of my home. Fabulous.

Win! An Antique Blue Ball Mason Jar with Zinc Lid from Fun Retro

I love mixing vintage pieces into my home decor. Isn’t it fun to have something from another time and place? I love the history and stories that can be found behind vintage pieces. This week’s Earth Friendly Etsy Shop is Fun Retro and that is exactly what this shop has in store, fun retro pieces. You will find housewares, furniture, industrial items, electronics, clothing and much more at Fun Retro.

Fun Retro is owned by Natalie in Linden, New Jersey. Natalie is an avid world traveler who has been to 6 continents and over 30 countries. How lovely is that? She is also a fabulous gardener who loves growing her own food. She will also find her hanging out with her boyfriend and sweet dogs, Brodie and Casey. Natalie’s favorite materials are vintage wood and industrial metals. She is drawn to vintage items that are sturdy and resilient such as lamps, filing cabinets and desks. Natalie is inspired by her lifelong choice to live an alternative lifestyle. She lives for the person that she is, making choices that she feels are best for the planet and her community. Fantastic.

Fun Retro is super Eco friendly because 100% of the items in this shop are vintage. There is a large range of items making it easy to find something for everyone. Natalie tries to offer suggestions on the uses for her vintage items, her goal is to get people to think outside of the box. I love this suggestion, I do this all of the time. You can easily transform a vintage trough into a flower box or rain catcher and rustic galvanized bins work perfectly as flower pots or trash bins.

As for the future, Natalie is hoping to add a new line of goodies that she will create using vintage components. She wants to offer more items that are environmentally responsible and fabulous.
Natalie at Fun Retro is giving one of my lovely readers a Vintage Blue Ball Mason Jar with Zinc Lid. This jar will add a bit of color to your home. You can use it as a flower vase, a kitchen tools and wooden spoons holder or in your office to house all of your colored pencils.

Ask Sweet Greens: Small Space Composting

Ask Sweet Greens Question:

We live in a tiny apartment and really want to start composting. Can you suggest a composter that we can use indoors? Is that even possible? Thank you, Amelia.

Ask Sweet Greens Answer:

Hi Amelia, This is a fantastic question and guess what, it is completely possible. My family has a NatureMill Automatic Indoor Composter that we adore. It is large enough to compost up to 120 pounds of organic food scraps a month, which is perfect for the average sized family. It is small enough to be stored in your kitchen, laundry room or other small space. The best part is that it runs on only 10 watts of energy or about 50ยข a month and you will have fresh organic compost in about 2 weeks. You can see how the NatureMill Indoor Composter works here.

How about you fantastic readers, do you live in a small space? Do you compost? What type of composter do you use?
