Sweet Greens Joins the Inhabitots Team

Hello, Friends! I have super exciting news, that I just couldn’t wait until Monday to share. I joined the Inhabitots team this week. Do you read Inhabitots? Inhabitots’ motto is “Sustainable design for the next generation’. Inhabitots is your green go to guide for all things parenting, baby and kids. I think this is a fantastic fit for Sweet Greens and I can’t wait to publish my first article. For now, check out Inhabitots and my about page and let me know what you think.

Have a Lovely Green Weekend

Hello, Friends! This weekend starts super early for me, 9 am to be exact. I will be spending the day with Eben’s class as they venture to The Denver Nature and Science Museum. How fun is that? Then, all three of us are going to play pool and grab a pizza at Coppersmith’s Poolside Pub. Poolside is super fun because there are 12 tournament sized billiards, not to mention, ping pong, shuffleboard and darts. Eben is fascinated with playing pool right now, so we thought this would be a fun Friday night activity.

Saturday, we are planning to work in our garden. We need to start planting the vegetables that we started from seed. Later in the afternoon, we are going to our neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Eben looks forward to this activity every Spring. He loves, loves, loves to see how many eggs he can find and is always super impressed with himself when he finds them lurking in trees and bushes. Later that night, we are having a family movie night. Our movie for the evening is ‘Where the Wild Things Are.’ Have you seen it? Did you like it? I have heard mixed reviews, so I guess we will decide for ourselves.

Sunday morning, we have a tee time at our local golf course at 10am. This will be the first time this year that it has been warm enough to go golfing. We have been waiting, and waiting and waiting some more. We love to golf as a family, so it will be fun for all. Then we are going to have lunch on the patio at one of our favorite little spots right off the green. Fantastic!

How about you lovely readers, what are your weekend plans?
Do you celebrate Easter? Will you be going to an Easter egg hunt?
Are you a golf lover too? What fun plans does your family have for the weekend?

xo,
Sweet Greens

P.S. Did you get a chance to enter to win a yummy lemon bar candle from Gabriel’s Aunt.

Flora Grubb Hanging Succulent Gardens

Do you remember the Flora Grubb Vertical Gardens that I told you about earlier in March? I saw this fantastic DIY at Sunset Magazine (by the way: one of my fave magazines) of another amazing Flora Grubb garden, this one hanging. Isn’t it lovely? These woolly pockets are made using recycled plastic bottles. I would love to have my entire patio wall covered in these fabulous woolly pockets. Fantastic.

How about you lovely readers, what do you think of Flora Grubb’s designs?

The Plant Room: Clip On Gardens

Do you live in an apartment, condo or a high rise building that doesn’t have room for a garden? What you need is a ‘clip on’ garden. Isn’t this a fantastic ideas from The Plant Room? It bolts to your existing structure, giving you the space to grow your own garden. This would be a great way to live more sustainably and everyone needs their own garden, right? This little video will give you a better idea of what the clip on garden is like.

How about you lovely readers, do you live in a space that doesn’t allow for a garden?
Would you use a ‘clip on’ garden?
What would you grow?

Xo.

More April Fool’s Day Pranks

I have to pull a few more pranks on Eben when he gets home from school, right? I love, love, love these ideas from Martha Stewart. That isn’t a sundae, look closely it is mashed potatoes and gravy. I have to serve that for dinner, don’t you agree? You can find more fun pranks to pull on your loved ones this evening over at Martha, she has a whole gallery of them.

What pranks did you pull this morning? What pranks do you have in store for your loved ones?
