Today’s Earth Friendly Etsy giveaway is from Black Star. Black Star is a vintage jewelry store, full of lovely things repurposed into jewelry. The collection includes jewelry with simple colors and lines. Don’t you agree that simple jewelry is fabulous jewelry?

When I asked where the owner of Black Star Katie she finds her inspiration, her answer was simple and sweet – from her garden, her deep love of the sea and the mountain top where her family swims, camps and wanders the woods.

When Katie’s not in her studio, you will find her toting tools and paintbrushes around her latest restoration project, working in the gardens, concocting herbal remedies, whipping up bath and beauty products or floating on her raft at Crystal Lake.

Would Your Cat Sleep in a Cave?

Aren’t these cat caves made by German artist Dornroeschen Filzunikate fantastic? They are lovely pieces of functional art called Katzenhoehle or cat caves. They are handmade with felted wool and come in an assortment of sizes and styles. Now, if I only had a cat. Fabulous.

We are meeting my parents this summer in Ouray, Colorado. I wrote about our stay in Ouray last summer on our way to Mesa Verde. We loved it so much, we are going back. While looking for other fun things to do on our trip, I found Dunton Hot Springs Resort. It is just over the mountain from Telluride, Colorado, which just happens to be one of our stops on our trip. Doesn’t Dunton Hot Springs look fantastic? ‘Dunton Hot Springs Resort is a romantic ghost town, set in an extraordinary alpine valley.’ I love, love, love the private hot springs in or outside of the cabins. The best part? You can rent the entire town, wouldn’t that be lovely?
