Let’s Play Dress Up, No Lead Please.

Does your little princess or prince love to dress up in faux diamonds and gems? If so, proceed with caution. Some play jewelry may contain lead. {I can’t believe this, it’s horrible.} A good rule of thumb is too avoid buying toys from vending machines or toys with small metallic parts. These small parts are easy to swallow. Search for suppliers and stores that don’t use lead in their products or visit The Center for Environment Health for more information. {The little girl in the picture is my niece, she is so adorable, right?}

What are your child’s favorite green toys?

Fab Green Find:: Pure & True {Giveaway!}

My skin is a big deal to me, I don’t feel my best if my skin is a wreck. I really want a beauty routine that is low maintenance and really works because when bedtime rolls around, I am so exhausted {I work at 5am everyday} that I just want to go to bed and I am a little lazy when it comes to removing my makeup. I want to be able to remove it quickly without a lot of water and definitely without having to take a shower. I also only use products that do not include any nasty chemicals and that are also good for the environment. When I received a shipment of fab products from Pure & True {organic beauty} the challenge of removing my makeup efficiently and effectively each night changed dramatically because the products are very simple to use and very effective. Not to mention the products are Earth friendly and the design is fab.

Pure & True is an organic beauty collection that was founded by Michelle Garcia on the principal that an inspirational and indulgent beauty experience, while caring for the health and beauty of the Earth and its people, is not only possible, but essential. Pure & True does not use any parabens, phthalates, artificial colors or fragrances, sulphates or petroleum-derived ingredients and they never perform any type of animal testing. Furthermore, Pure & True donates 5% of their profits to several wonderful social and environmental charities and they also purchase carbon off-set credits to further minimize their impact on the environment. My favorite part of the Pure & True collection is the jars that the products come in. The jars are not only recyclable but reusable. Yes, I said reusable. They are beautifully designed and look lovely sitting on my vanity. The cleansers come in tall slender squirt jars and the masques come in cute small fat jars that you could refill and use again and again.
I received The Premier Collection from Pure & True that includes the Blossom Flower Milk Cleanser, Enrich Deep-Sea Hydrating Cleanser, Refuge Rooibos, Rose and Pomegranate Hydrating Masque and Uplift Intensive Age-Defying Masque.

I love the Blossom Flower Milk Cleanser and Enrich Deep-Sea Hydrating Cleanser because of the calming feeling that my face has after using the products. I also love that I can squirt the desired amount onto a warm washcloth and massage it all over my face and then wipe my face clean. The products are both full of lovely oils such as avocado and coconut as well as chamomile and hibiscus extract that leave my skin moisturized and nourished.

I love the Refuge Rooibos, Rose and Pomegranate Hydrating Masque and Uplift Intensive Age-Defying Masque because they are only needed once a week and I love the tingling sensation that I feel after using the masques which also leave my skin super hydrated and glowing. It is like spending the day at a fab spa and I never have to leave the comfort of my master bathroom.

Would you like to have a spa day at home? Pure & True has been so lovely to offer ONE of my lovely readers an Affirm Multi-Vitamin Age-Defying Serum. {$85 value}

Fab Green Find:: Inhabit Living {Coupon Code!}

There is something about Fall that just makes me want to curl up on the sofa with a good book, a nice cup of tea, a super cozy throw and Eben’s hair on my neck. Is it the cooler weather? Maybe. Is it because the days seem shorter? Probably. Maybe it is just because it feels like the perfect time to slow down after a super busy summer and relax. Whatever the reason, I really enjoy it. Every night after dinner, we either snuggle up and listen to Mr. Sweet Greens read to us. {More on what we are currently reading, coming soon.} or we lay on pillows on the floor and play board or card games. It is a lovely way to relax after a day of work and school and reconnect before bedtime.

I recently received a fab Inhabit Living Sunshine organic cotton/bamboo blend throw and it has become the go to throw in our home. It seems like everyone is always fighting over it. Once in a while, Jayson will get home early from work before anyone else and I will find him snoozing on the sofa wrapped up in it. At snuggle reading time each night, Eben races me to the sofa, in hopes that he will reach the throw first. And I personally, one day last week, stayed snuggled up in the throw all day long. I think the reason that this throw is such a hit (besides the fact that it is organic) is because for one, it is huge, 60×84 to be exact, so it is the perfect size for adults. It is comfy, and made with a smart Oeko-Tex® Certified 80% bamboo/20% organic cotton fabric blend, which makes the throw super soft and cuddly, and last but not least, it is beautiful. It is a fabulous orange {sunshine} color, which by the way is my favorite color and has a knitted design that is elegant. I also love that it gives my living room a splash of fun color.

Inhabit Living was founded by a husband and wife design team, Mike and Jennifer Tuttle. Mike and Jennifer share a love for great design and Inhabit Living allows them the time to talk, think and design without being absent from their personal commitments to each other. {lovely} Mike and Jennifer are both professional graphic designers who design everything in the Inhabit Living line from scratch. I love Inhabit Livings designs, color combinations and choice of fabrics. My favorites are, of course, the Current Throw in Sunshine, but I also love the Aequorea in Chocolate and Silver Organic Bedding and the handmade sustainable modern pillows, because who wouldn’t love pillows with fab chairs from the 1920’s, 40’s and 50’s. These are all definitely on my wish list.

With the holidays right around the corner, you should definitely check out Inhabit Living, it is the perfect place to find a fab gift that will leave a lasting impression. Mike and Jennifer @ Inhabit Living has been so lovely to offer all of Sweet Greens readers 15% off your order with the coupon code sweetgreens valid through December 1, 2009.

Have A Very Lovely Green Christmas

Hello, Friends! Are you ready for Christmas? Can you believe that it is in 2 days? By the time you read this, Eben and I will be in Utah. We will be staying in my childhood home in Liberty, Utah. Liberty is a small mountain community in the Ogden Valley and my parents home is nestled between Wolf Mountain Ski Resort and Pine View Reservoir. It is a beautiful place and I am excited to go home again. It will be lovely to see the snow covered mountains and frozen water. (I will take pictures to share with you.) We will be spending time baking goodies with my sister and her three adorable children on Christmas Eve and enjoying brunch and exchanging gifts with my entire family at my sister’s home on Christmas morning.

The remainder of my visit will be spent at the mister’s mother’s home. They live at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon in Salt Lake City. I always feel so relaxed at my mother in law’s home, it is always warm and cozy and this year the mister’s brother and his son, and Eben’s cousin will be spending the entire time there with us. Eben can’t wait to hang out with a cousin his exact age!

Our stay in Utah sounds pretty laid back and relaxed, which is perfect for this time of year. I want to wish all of you a lovely holiday weekend, I hope you enjoy yourselves and your time with your family. I hope you have time to relax and enjoy the moment. I look forward to another wonderful year at Sweet Greens and would like to thank you for your love and support. I will talk to you again on December 29th.

How are you spending Christmas?
