Those are all great tips to help conserve water usage-I try do to the best I can when it comes to conservation: I already turn off the water while brushing my teeth, I try to keep my showers as short as possible, and some other things.
Water is OH so important!!
We have 20 drums, 55 gallons each, that make up our rain water catch system for our garden and our wringer washer in the summer.(photos on my blog) we hand dug our own well so water is precious to us. There is no county water out here or sewage.
In the summer, we take showers in the greenhouse. We fill up our 5 gallon camper shower bag and hang it in there after it sits in the sun and heats up.
We have a Big Berkey water filter, same as the Red Cross uses in the field, and that provides our drinking and some of our cooking water.
If I am going to make something like pasta that requires boiling the water I just use it out of the faucet from the well. ( yes, we do have plumbing hahah)
Another option is a flow restrictor shower head. Many of these are designed to use less water while giving the illusion that you are getting a powerful spray. We actually saw a drop in our energy expenses when we switched.
Hi Little Purple Room,
I love, love, love it. It sounds like you are doing a lovely job of conserving water. I would love to take a shower in a greenhouse. How lovely. We also have a rain harvesting system and love it. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Inger,
Absolutely! We have low flow shower heads on both of our showers and you are right you can not tell the different and our water consumption has went down. You can read more about Low Flow Shower Heads @ http://www.mysweetgreens.com/2009/10/waterpik-eco-flow-low-flow-shower-heads.html
