Have a Lovely Green Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends. This is Eben’s last weekend of summer vacation. Can you believe it? I really can’t – this summer has flown by, so much so, I am already dreaming of Autumn. Even though we don’t have much of an Autumn season here in Florida, I am day-dreaming of our annual trip to North Carolina to see the leaves changing colors.

This weekend, Grandpa Sweet Greens, Eben and I are going to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens for their Bon Festival. We plan to have a nice Japanese dinner together before the Takio Drum, Bon Dance performances and the lantern floating. The lantern floating ceremony is celebrated on the last night of Obon, when the ancestors are believed to depart for the other world, their journey illuminated by farewell fires. At the Morikami, you can purchase a lantern sleeve and write a letter on it to a friend or family member who has passed away. These lanterns are then floated on bodies of water, in this case a large lake in the Japanese gardens. (I will make sure to take some photos to share with you next week.)

While I think of what to write to my lovely grandparents that have passed on, here are few green things to keep you busy this weekend:

– Here are some green back to school supplies. Monday, I will be giving away a basket of my faves.
– Wow. You can now buy YogaVive by the case and for only $25. The perfect school snack.
– Looking for ways to recycle your old denim – here are 7.
– The perfect dessert made with Green & Black’s White & Dark Chocolate Mousse.
– Did you know Apple Cider Vinegar can make you beautiful!
– How awesome, the Fig + Sage gals were invited to spend the day at Terrain. (Jealous)

I hope you have a fabulous weekend, I will see you back here on Monday.

xo,
Sweet Greens
