How to Make Thanksgiving Candles from Leftover Halloween Pumpkins and Gourds

One of the great things about pumpkins and gourds is that they can be used as festive decor for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. Chances are you still have one or two little pumpkins still lingering amongst your Halloween decorations. While you can reuse them in your Thanksgiving decor for the rest of month, I know a better way to enjoy them. In a few simple steps, you can transform those loose pumpkins into illuminating candles for the Thanksgiving table. This is a fun activity that the entire family can do together, and these pumpkin candles also make great hostess gifts if you have been invited to Thanksgiving dinner at a friend or family member’s home. OMG so freaking cute!!!!! and for lazy people like me or people that don’t have what they need to make candles, you could always put a votive or tea light in the cored veggie too!!! love it!

    Hi Angie,

You are absolutely right – a tea candle would work too!

I actually saw a pic once…somewhere..magazine or online…where a person took a hole saw and cut out tea light sized holes all over the top of a rather large pumpkin, put a lit tea light in each hole, and then used it as a centerpiece to a Thanksgiving table display…was gorgeous!
