Gratitude

This time of year is all about gratitude – I am most thankful for is my family. The fact that I get to wake up everyday and see these two beautiful, smiling faces makes me the happiest wife + mother in the world. They are the most perfect part of my life. Fact.

What are you thankful for?

Review + Giveaway: Dulaney-Solar 6 In 1 Solar Toys Kit + $50 Amex Card

Today’s giveaway is hosted by one of my favorite sponsors: Dulaney-Solar. Dulaney-Solar is offering a 6 in1 Solar Educational Toys Kit + a $50 American Express Gift Card. Wouldn’t this be a fantastic jump start to your holiday shopping?

Dulaney-Solar is a fantastic Maryland based company that is dedicated to providing their customers with a premier selection of quality solar powered landscape lights and solar educational toys – all at affordable prices.

Dulaney-Solar sent Eben a 6 in 1 Educational Solar Toys Kit to review. This fantastic kit has received many awards for it’s ability to teach solar energy concepts to children. The 6 in 1 solar toys kit is a super fun project that is excellent for beginning buildings. The kit consists of 21 snap together pieces that require no tools to put together. Each kit can be built 6 different ways, your child can build a solar puppy, windmill, revolving plane, air boat, plane, or car – all designed to teach children how solar power is used to move a small motor.

Eben was immediately intrigued by this kit, he wanted to start working on it right away – so we did. He enjoyed wiring the gear box, sorting the pieces that he needed for the project and following the directions in the manual. He couldn’t wait to see the finished Solar Puppy.

Eben loves seeing his Solar Puppy in action and shows it to all of his friends and family members that come over. Can you tell how much he likes it?

If your child has a love of Lego’s or model building, the 6 in 1 Solar Educational Toys Kit from Dulaney-Solar is the perfect gift for them. Since you can make 6 different projects with this kit, it is long-lasting fun. Your child can still play with their solar toy during those dreary less-than-sunny winter months, by using a halogen bulb.

Have a Lovely Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends. How was your week? Have you made your Thanksgiving plans? We are hosting Thanksgiving this year and the mister is still planning the menu – I am in charge of dessert. I am thinking of making miniature organic pies – it sounds like a fun way to spend the morning with Eben. Agree?

While I ponder the types of pies that we will make, here are a few green things to make you smile:

– After falling while hiking, a photographer gets his shot!
– If I ever visit Poland, I have to see the Crooked Forest.
– This owl is adorable!
– This simple conversation with a grandfather, amazing. [Well done, J]
– I want to harvest this felt play food!

Have a cozy weekend, I will see you back here on Monday.

xo,
Sweet Greens

Vapur | The Anti-Bottle: Artist Series

I love Vapur Anti-Bottles – they stand when full and when empty you can roll them up and put them in your pocket, handbag or backpack. The Vapur Anti-Bottle is perfect for days when I am out and about without my large reusable water bottle. I just roll up the Vapur Anti-Bottle hook it to my jeans and off I go.

The Vapur Anti-Bottles are freezable, dishwasher safe, BPA free and come in a great selection of colors and designs. The new Vapur Artist Series make me smile, I really like the Aqua Libre and Shark Bait – they are only available for a limited time. Wouldn’t these make fantastic stocking stuffers?

Have you tried a Vapur Anti-Bottle?

Holiday Ideas: Eco-Friendly Advent Calendars

I love the holidays and every year I think it would be fun to do an advent calendar, yet I never get around to it. 🙁 This year, I am planning ahead and have decided to do a small advent calendar for Eben, Mr. Sweet Greens and one with fun ways to celebrate each day together in December. Am I going a little overboard?

Here are a couple more cute ideas that I have seen recently:

I think all of these could be made using eco-friendly, recycled materials – now I just have to decide how I want to make ours. I promise to share the results!

Does your family celebrate December with an advent calendar? What kind?
