BPA-Free Plastics are Harmful Too?

On Friday, while listening to one of my favorite NPR programs – there was a brief break for the news. The
news – that a new study shows that most plastics, even BPA-free plastics may contain estrogenic chemicals. I had a feeling that was coming – I mean, we all know that plastics leach chemicals and I have always found it hard to believe that those chemicals are not harmful. When it comes down to it, plastics should not be used in cups, food storage products or any food packaging – period. This is the main reason that Casa de Sweet Greens uses glass containers. Yikes.

Will you continue to use BPA-free plastic food containers?
Or will you switch to a glass, clay or ceramic alternative?

Have a Lovely Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello Friends. How was your week? This weekend is going to be very laid back. The weather is not “beach” weather, so we are going to spend he mornings sipping tea and the afternoons thrifting and browsing the shelves of our local library. We haven’t been to the library in ages because we are always at the beach! {wink} The rest of the weekend is going to be dedicated to projects and family time. While I gather the books to go back to the library, here are a few green things I have been meaning to share with you:

– Green {Goody} and I will be making these next week during our Friday night date!
– I am in love with Petunia Pickle Bottom. The name makes me smile too!
– Mmmmmm, organic Chocolate O’s look yummy!
– When I go to Paris, I will spend an entire day here.
– A solar thermal Swiss chalet? When do I move in?
– I am so smitten with old barns. Are you?
– This is exactly how I want to spend Sunday morning. (above photo)
