Yoga Planet: 50 Fun Activities for a Greener World

I have been looking for fun stocking stuffers for Eben this year and just found Yoga Planet’s 50 Fun Activities for a Greener World. How much fun would it be to try out each of these fifty poses and games together as a family. Each of the cards is in line with one of the planet’s natural elements: air, earth, fire, water and space. Fantastic. This is definitely on my list.

How about you lovely readers, what types of fun games do you like to stuff in the holiday stocking?

6 Essentials to Pack in your Child’s School Lunch Box

Does your child eat school lunch or do you pack a lunch for him? In my opinion – packing your child’s lunch box is usually the way to go. There are 6 essentials that should be packed each day, do you know what they are? If not, read 6 Essentials to Pack in your Child’s School Lunch Box. Are there other essentials that you always pack?

Have a Lovely Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello Friends. Do you have any fun plans this weekend? Tonight, we are going to the theater to see Let It Be…The Beatles. After everything that Eben has been telling me about The Palm Beach Pops – it sounds like we will have a fantastic time! I am really looking forward to an evening with my boys – and they will be wearing their suits and ties, which just makes me smile. While I get dressed up for our night out, here are a few green things that I have been meaning to share with you:

– Add one of these little notes to your child’s lunchbox or your husband’s suitcase. Sweet!
– These hand drawn paper dolls are delightful and FREE!
– These clouds and umbrellas could brighten up any room.
Jordan is moving to Paris for a year – and I am kind of jealous.
– Have you heard of EtsyKids? Fantastic.
– Grandpa Sweet Greens is coming over this weekend to watch Toy Story 3.
– I wish I could find these berries at our Green Market on Saturday – the radishes above were a find!
– It is chilly in Florida today, (low 70’s) I wish I had one of these to snuggle up in.

I hope you have a cozy weekend with your family. I will see you back here on Monday – I miss you already.

xo,
Sweet Greens

Mud Puppy – Reusable Advent Calendar

Can you believe the holidays are right around the corner? And Hanukkah starts on the 1st of December. Wow! Whenever the holidays start to approach, I think of the countdown chains that I use to make as a child. Do you remember countdown chains? Where you would remove a link each day – getting you closer and closer to the big day! I would usually start really, really, early – and the chain would circle my room several times.

I love the idea of an advent calendar – what a fun way to build the excitement of the holidays. Agreed? And this Christmas Tree Advent Calendar from Mud Puppy made me smile. And what a bargain at only $13. I love the fun, colorful stickers – and the best part, they are reusable.
Does your family use an advent calendar?

What type of advent calendar do you have?

Let It Be: The Beatles

The Palm Beach Pops Music and You program brings music into classrooms to incorporate hands-on experience with real musical instruments, workbooks and professional musicians – as well as trips to The Kravis Center for Palm Beach Pops concerts.

Eben’s school has added this fantastic program to their music curriculum and from what Eben has told me – it has been a huge hit. He was very impressed to hear an orchestra play the themes to Star Wars, Spiderman and Harry Potter. Isn’t this a fantastic way to get children excited about music in school.

Tonight, we will be experiencing The Palm Beach Pops as a family. The concert – Let It Be…The Beatles. And since we are all huge fans of The Beatles – it is sure to be a hit!

P.S. Eben’s favorite part so far – he gets to wear a tie. {wink}

Does your children’s school participate in a similar program?
