I love old doors, remember this old green cabin door? Whenever Mr. Sweet Greens and I are thrifting, we are always drawn to old doors. We have really never had the use for them, until now. Now, that we will are in the market for a new residence, I can’t help but to constantly think of new and fun ways that we could incorporate old doors into our home. I think these barn doors and barn style doors are perfection. You?
I love the idea of using them to separate a bedroom from a bathroom.
I am positive that Eben’s include Star Wars, Lego’s or video games.
P.S. These photos made me smile, especially since I have been working with Comcast for over a week now to get access to my emails and a Sweet Greens without email access is sad. Boo.
After writing an article on Harvesting Rain Water for my Cascadian Farm blog, many people had questions that required a more detailed response. So, your questions have been answered, check them out and leave me any additional rain water harvesting questions below!
Do you harvest rain? What has your experience been?
How has your week been? Mine has been busy! Our trip across country from Colorado to Florida went fantastically smooth. However, our first day on the road – after stopping for gas – we realized that we left our 200+ DVD case sitting next to the pumps at the gas station. Yikes! The thought of 3 more complete days of driving with no DVDs was too much to take! We had to turn around. Our fingers were crossed that it would still be there, especially since we had to drive 20 miles back to the station. Thankfully, it was there, all alone next to the pumps. DVDs are essential for a 4 day move. Don’t you agree?
It was very, very nice to get to Florida, traveling via moving truck is tough. Just ask, Lilly and Noodles (our dogs) who traveled with us!
Exciting things happened within the first 24 hours of being in Florida. Here is a little information to fill you in: Before leaving for Florida, I had sent my resume to a Sexologist (Sexology, fascinating! Right?) that was looking for an Executive Assistant/Social Media Expert. The day that we arrived here, she called and after chatting for a nice length of time she asked if we could meet the following day. I am happy to announce that I will be starting another new adventure on Monday. Yay! I got the job. Fantastic, right? I am really, really excited – what a great way to start my new life here in Florida.
After doing nothing but packing, traveling and unpacking for the last several days, we have decided that today is going to be a beach day. Mr. Sweet Greens’ father is meeting us at 9 am for a day of fun and sun at one of our favorite beaches. I am looking forward to a day of relaxation, rejuvenation and reconnection with my boys.
What are your plans today? Are you doing anything fun? Any fun plans for the coming weekend? Do you have any end of summer plans coming up?
xo, Sweet Greens
P.S. If you have tried to reach me via email, I am terribly sorry but I have been having technical difficulties with Comcast and for the time being they are holding my email hostage. I hope to be able to respond to all of your emails within the next couple of days. Thank you for your patience!
Hello, Friends! How was your week? I spent the week packing, cleaning my home for the last time, eating at my favorite Fort Collins restaurants and saying goodbye to good friends and neighbors. Moving can be so bittersweet! And today is the day, we close on the sale of our home and hit the road for Florida at 10 a.m. By this time next week, I will be soaking up a good book on the beach, blogging poolside and enjoying my last couple weeks of summer vacation with Eben. Can you believe how quickly this summer is flying by? I really, really, really want to hit ‘pause’.
On our way to Florida, we plan on spending an afternoon in New Orleans, checking out Bourbon Street and eating yummy food. Even though this is a huge ordeal to move everything that we own across the country, we thought we should take our time and really enjoy it. A road trip – of sorts. Eben is super excited to get to Florida and I am starting to feel exciting too. A great adventures awaits for us there.
How about you, what are your weekend plans? Are you going on a road trip? Getting ready for back to school? Enjoying the sun?
I will talk to you again on Monday – I miss you already.
