Organica Deluxe:: Ginger Cookies

Every afternoon Jayson, Eben and I have tea. We love this quiet time spent together chatting, reading, sipping a delicious cup of tea and having a little sweet nosh with it.

We recently received a beautiful aqua blue box from Organica Deluxe full of the most fabulous ginger cookies. My first thought upon opening the box was that I love the fact that the cookies are shipped in one box. (not a smaller box inside a larger box) and second, that the packing peanuts are compostable.

At first look the cookies are over sized, packaged beautifully and sprinkled with glistening sugar crystals. They look great when they are presented on a beautiful plate, with a lovely cup of tea or milk. Eben and I shared a cookie, since they are so large. I thought they were amazing and Eben was in love…the look on his face was priceless. He immediately said, “Momma, can I have the rest of these cookies to share with my friend Parker when he comes over tomorrow?” I thought to myself, “No way, these cookies are mine.” The cookies are that fabulous. We really enjoyed the richer molasses taste and the chewy moistness.

Snow Day.

Yesterday, was the second day this week that school was canceled due to snow. Eben and I decided to make a day of it and have a Mom and Son fun day. We made chocolate covered marshmallows and a pumpkin cheesecake. {Pumpkin Cheesecake recipe coming soon.} Then we spent the entire afternoon outside building a snow fort. We used two plastic bins to make the snow cubes for our snow fort. It was fun to watch Eben lug the heavy bins full of snow back and forth. He was a trooper.

I am not sure who loved playing in the snow more, us or our English Bulldog Lilly. She couldn’t get enough of the snow, she was plowing through it and eating it as she went.

We then enjoyed hot cocoa while we warmed our cold toes by the fireplace.

When I am going marketing or thrifting, I always take along a great large reusable bag that I can toss all my purchases into. A lot of my bags are generic, run of the mill and don’t have a lot of character or style.

I just found The Urban Lola Tote from LolaFalk Designs and thought this was a great bag that is colorful, fun and Eco-friendly. The Urban Lola Tote is designed, hand cut and sewn by a very talented handbag designer named Lola who lives in Dallas, Texas. I love that her designs are eclectic, unique and not something that you will see everyday.

The best part about The Urban Lola Tote is the fact that Lola uses leftover pieces of fabric to create these beautiful bags. Also, Lola doesn’t think that it is creative to have two bags that are exactly alike, (I absolutely agree.) so you will never see two that are exactly the same.

Today is Mr. Sweet Greens birthday. Mr. Sweet Greens was in need of a good cologne so we went shopping for the perfect scent for him. Eben bought him a bottle of Burt’s Bees Natural Skin Care for Men Cologne. We decided on the Burt’s Bees because it smells fab and is all natural. It has the perfect blend of essential oils making for a crisp woodsy scent. Mr. Sweet Greens just opened it and thought it smelled great. If you are looking for a great gift for the man in your life we highly suggest it and it is a bargain at just $25 a bottle. {We bought ours at Whole Foods.}
