Are you still using paper or plastic? If you need more good reasons to stop using paper or plastic bags, check out my recent post ‘Reusable Bags 101:: Life After “Paper or Plastic?” at Cascadian Farm. If you haven’t already visit my blog at Cascadian Farm and leave me your thoughts.
If you already use reusable bags, why did you make the choice to switch?
XO.

For me, the choice was easy. I saw the stats about how many bags the USA and the world goes thru and it just blew my mind. Then I saw a TV show about the plastic vortex in the Pacific ocean and just knew I had to do something to stop the plastic flood!

Hi Angie,
Great reasons. I saw the plastic vortex too. It is frightening. I will NEVER use a plastic bag again.

I lived abroad last year and EVERYONE uses reusable bags. Some supermarkets charge as much as 10p for a bag. I nearly lost it when I moved back & shopped at Walmart for the first time. What a waste! And most people in the US drive to the store (as opposed to the UK, where lots of people walk or take the bus). There’s really no excuse for such wasteful behavior.
I’ll definitely have to take a look at that article! Were always looking to bring our own bags places(when we don’t forget them that is).
Hi Angela K,
I agree. It really is more than just using reusable bags. There is an entire mindset that needs to change before huge changes can be made.

Hi The Eclectic Element,
When I first starting using them, I would put a note on my steering wheel. That helped me remember them until it became a habit.

I could not agree more with so many of these statements. Great post!
