Hello Everyone.
How has your week been? This week was much better than the previous. To catch you up – Eben started school a couple of weeks ago and went from a child who loved school and looked forward to it everyday to a child who didn’t want get up in the morning and dreaded being dropped off each morning. At first we thought it was just nerves and the change of schools. However, it continually became worse and worse. After the first week, we pulled him out and moved him to a private school – And I am happy to announce that the old Eben is back, happier than ever and in full force. He loves school again and can’t wait to get there! Yay!
His school is fantastic too – It’s a “green” school complete with a garden, rainwater fed Koi pond, Eco friendly grass (think- fake grass that looks and feels real) and it’s LEED certified. They also recycle and compost all waste! I am really looking forward to volunteering my time to help them achieve more green initiatives.
Do you have fun plans for the weekend? We are planning another weekend at the beach – simply because we can not get enough of it! Who would get tired of swimming, snorkeling, the feeling of warm sand on your toes and seashell collecting? And after a long week of school and work, we deserve it, right?
On another note – last night, Mr. Sweet Greens and Eben were making paper airplanes from old pieces of paper. Do you remember making paper airplanes? Children just love them – Oh yeah, and so do dogs. Our Lilly and Noodles were going crazy seeing pieces of paper fly all over the living room. They were jumping and yelping, both trying to get the airplanes before the other. It was hilarious.
So, while I go clean up the shredded paper from last night’s fiasco. Here are a few things that I have wanted to share with you.
– Learn how to make this sweet corn husk doll.
– Joel made a Catfish for Leo and it is adorable.
– You only need a few ingredients and the sun to make this yummy Sun Strawberry Jam.
– I have added a bookshelf with books from “Green Book Adventure of the Week” to the below right.
– If I were getting married, I would want a succulent bouquet. (photo’s above)
Stay tuned next week, when I start up Earth Friendly Etsy again. Tons of great shops and giveaways to come! If you are interested in being featured on Earth Friendly Etsy, click here.
Have a lovely weekend and I will see you Monday morning.
xo,
Sweet Greens.

Sorry to hear of Eben’s public school problems. I wonder why he was so unhappy there?! AWESOME on the private school and SOOOO cool that they are green!!!
Hi Angie,
Eben has very specific learning needs that the public schools have always had a hard time assisting him with. The private school is very individualized and has a loving environment which is essential for his success! Thank you for caring. {wink}
