PlanetBox: Eco-Friendly, Stainless Steel Lunchboxes for Kids

Does your child take their lunch to school? If so, have you checked out the eco-friendly, stainless steel lunchboxes from PlanetBox. PlanetBox is the best lunch box option that we have come across. I love that the lunch box is stainless steel which means, it is heavy-duty, easy to clean, safe for Eben to eat out of and eco-friendly. Not to mention, Eben’s lunch is zero waste and this will be the only lunch box that I have to buy for him!

Eben loves his PlanetBox because of the cool fish magnets that it came with and the red carrying case that make toting lunch to school every day a breeze. He is also a fan of the Big and Little Dippers, because a soggy sandwich is a lunch deal-breaker -it’s great to keep his yogurt, mandarin oranges, dips and other wet foods separate from everything else.

What lunchbox system does your child use and love?

** I wanted to let you know which lunch box has worked for our family in the past and which one we plan to use this school year. I wasn’t paid to tell you about PlanetBox, but I thought you might benefit from it! 🙂

Have a Lovely Green Weekend + A Few Green Things

Hello, Friends! Can you believe the weekend is already here? Eben and I are spending tomorrow morning picking out new eye glasses! I am smitten with Warby Parker and Toms Eyewear, however they don’t have any options for the kiddos. 🙁

Eben of course wants to find eye glasses that come in fun colors – his current pair are bright orange! How about you fabulous readers, do you have a favorite go to source for children’s eye glasses?

While I do a little more Internet research, here are a few fun green things to keep you busy:

Lego figures on their way to Jupiter. Love it.
– 9 cosmetic safety myths – don’t get fooled!
– Are you an engineer looking for a job? Greenpeace is hiring.
– The sea turtles are off and swimming!
– When I registered my car – Eben insisted that we get this license plate to support Florida aquaculture!
– Keep your pets safe this summer with natural flea and tick remedies.

Have a great summer weekend – I can’t wait to see you on Monday.

xo,
Sweet Greens

HOW TO: Make a Recycled Pop Up Birthday Card

Do you have a birthday party or two or your child’s summer calendar? Wouldn’t it be fun to surprise someone special on their birthday with a pop up card designed just for them? That’s exactly what my son and I decided to do to surprise a close family friend. What’s even better is that the supplies we used are eco-friendly and recycled. Check out his fun DIY recycled pop-up card that Eben and I made for a friend.

Solar Power Ice Pops

I love this solar powered ice pops truck – a fun project lead by Jason Anello and designed by Kelli Anderson. This solar powered ice pop truck sponsored by Sungevity, not only runs on solar power but shows the public via fun diagrams that reveal that amount of energy needed to fuel human consumption compared to the amount of energy that the sun provides everyday! Oh, and did I mention that they are handing out FREE ice pops on top of that? Fantastic.

P.S. This has always been a dream of mine – an orange solar powered ice cream truck – well, except mine would be handing out organic homemade ice cream sandwiches. And wouldn’t Sweet Greens be the perfect name? I wonder if Sungevity would sponsor one for us in South Florida? 😉

What is your eco-friendly dream project?
